NBC has officially renewed well-received crime dramedy Good Girls for a fourth season, it was announced on Friday.
The news doesn’t come as a surprise considering the show’s fairly lucrative Netflix streaming deal and its notable non-linear ratings for its recently completed third season. Good Girls was one of many current broadcast shows to have an unexpected wrap-up due to coronavirus, as season three’s initial 16-episode order was cut at 11 with the finale airing earlier this month.
Through that truncated third season, the series was averaging a 0.9 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall in L+7 Nielsens, with the show’s February 16th season premiere growing to a 3.3 rating in 18-49 and 7.8 million viewers with digital and linear viewing recorded to date. Additionally, it ranked as the network’s #2 show on digital platforms this season.
With this renewal, Good Girls joins a 2020-21 scripted slate for NBC that includes The Blacklist, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, One Chicago, Law & Order: SVU, New Amsterdam, Superstore, and This Is Us. The network still has several series to make renewal decisions on, including Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, Manifest, Indebted, and Perfect Harmony.
