Deadline is reporting that Syfy has pulled the plug on horror series Ghost Wars after one season.

From Simon Barry (Continuum), Ghost Wars told the story of Roman Mercer (Avan Jogia), an outcast in a tiny Alaskan town whose latent psychic powers hold the key to protecting himself and those he loves from being destroyed by the paranormal forces that surround them.

In addition to Jogia, Ghost Wars starred Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy), Vincent D’Onofrio (Emerald City), Kandyse McClure (Battlestar Galactica), Kristin Lehman (The Arrangement), and Meat Loaf (Fight Club).

With the cancellation of Ghost Wars, Syfy’s scripted slate now includes The Magicians, The Expanse, Channel Zero, Krypton, 12 Monkeys, Z Nation, Killjoys, Wynonna Earp, Van Helsing, and Happy!, with the fate of fellow 2017 freshman Superstition still hanging in the balance. The network said goodbye to Blood Drive, Incorporated, Aftermath, and Dark Matter in 2017 and recently ordered an adaptation of the Deadly Class graphic novels to series.

The series finale of Ghost Wars aired January 4th on Syfy.

Did you watch? Was the show’s (now) series finale conclusive enough for you? How does this cancellation influence your openness to sampling more shows from Syfy in the future?
