The global coronavirus pandemic caused the bottom to drop out of the American economy, killed 130,000 people and counting, and essentially paralyzed life as we know it. With no real end in sight, as wearing masks to protect ourselves and others has become a politicized issue and states, businesses, and sports leagues insist on reopening despite all evidence pointing to the contrary, what better way to numb the existential dread we’re all experiencing than with a little bit of TV?
One of the very few positives of the hellscape we live in is that now there’s time to dig into your TV watch list. That prestige drama you’ve always been meaning to get to? Tear into it. That guilty pleasure soap that looks like a great piece of escapism? Escape away. Using art as a coping mechanism is something that unites us all and thankfully, there is currently more TV than one could ever watch available at our fingertips. But don’t think that library content is all that’s out there. Even with the entire television industry crystallized in amber for the time being, awaiting word on when it’s safe to produce more content again, there’s still plenty of shows being released by all outlets.
That’s why we here at KSiteTV have gathered the premiere dates for July 2020. Below you’ll find every scripted show premiering or returning throughout the seventh month of this never-ending year. Streaming services have been less impacted by COVID production delays than cable or broadcast, so you’ll notice that a majority of content coming this month is from the Netflixes, Hulus, and Amazons of the world. Not included are stand-up specials, films (both streaming and direct to VOD), unscripted shows, or older acquisitions.
But regardless of whether you watch old shows or discover new ones, whether you binge as much as possible or schedule your TV with some sense of normalcy, KSiteTV hopes that you stay safe whilst feeding your craving for any and all things television.
