Nominations for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday and there were plenty of surprises to be had in the top-tier acting and series categories. Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama was completely revamped from last season, with Maura Tierney and Constance Zimmer losing their status in the category along with four ineligible actresses from Downton Abbey and Game of Thrones, while This Is Us found itself four nominations in the Leading/Supporting acting categories. Zach Galifanakis joined Baskets co-star Louie Anderson in the nomination circle; Homeland lost Claire Danes and its series nomination but gained a Mandy Patinkin nod; and three women from Saturday Night Live were picked in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy category.

The 2017 Primetime Emmys are set to air Sunday, September 17th on CBS. You can check out the full list of nominees here, as well as who KSiteTV wanted to be nominated here.
