Tom Welling, it’s your move.
Allison Mack, who portrayed Chloe Sullivan in all ten seasons of Smallville, has landed a recurring role in the upcoming second season of FX’s Wilfred, according to a report at Deadline. She will be playing Ryan (Elijah Wood)’s love interest, an “attractive and edgy biochemist.” This is her first TV role after the conclusion of Smallville last year. If you’re not sure what Wilfred is, in case you hadn’t heard of it, it’s the show with the guy in a dog costume.
Now this leaves Welling as one of the only young Smallville leads without a new gig. Michael Rosenbaum is currently directing and starring in a movie in Indiana; Kristin Kreuk is in the upcoming CW Beauty and the Beast remake; Erica Durance has a new drama premiering on NBC this summer called Saving Hope; Cassidy Freeman is recurring on The Vampire Diaries and will soon appear on A&E’s Longmire; and Justin Hartley will be the star of a CW pilot called Arrow First Cut. Congratulations to Allison on her new role!

Wait, Michael Rosenbaum is in Indiana? I missed that one. Is he anywhere close to Indianapolis?
I am so excited for Allison!!
@corfy: MR is in Evansville. It’s in sw IN, very close to the KY & IL Borders
Yay ! I’m so happy for Allison, I miss her on my screen. I just can’t wait.
@Keith Ah, shame it isn’t closer to the Indianapolis area. I’ve been to Evansville, but it isn’t a trip I make lightly (particularly with recent gas prices).
I MISS TOM WELLING !
I miss Tom too. But then again, of ALL actors in Smallville he was the one the who had to work to most. He was in every episode and most likely wants some real good time out for himself. Maybe to start a family or something, I remember him saying he wasn’t keen in having children while doing SV because he wouldn’t have enough time to be a present dad, so maybe he might be thinking about doing that now.
If there is a celebrity golf tourney, count Tom Welling in. Getting pretty good, made at least one long range putt at the recent Michael Jordan Invitational. He did joke about wanting a bunch of kids on a radio interview that aired last year on his birthday. It was with a family friend who is a fellow equestrian like Jamie. I think he just hasn’t had any offers of interest to him. At least everyone else is busy, and we have the Smallville Season 11 comic.
