NBC was first to make presentations at the 2019 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour and among their presentations were Superstore and the upcoming series Abby’s. Productions from CNBC , Bravo, and E! were also featured.

Here are some highlights.

NBC Women of Drama

NBC started TCA 2019 with some of the strong women that populate their current and upcoming shows. Represented were Jennifer Carpenter (The Enemy Within), Retta (Good Girls), Lorraine Toussaint (The Village), and Susan Kelechi Watson (This Is Us). They talked about the approaches they take to their roles and what gets them into character.

Superstore

The panel for Superstore began with some talk about the improved Metacritic scores for the series as it has gone on. The cast spoke about what happens when they are spotted in a show, and how the show has “found itself more and more every season.”

Abby’s

This episode is rehearsed and shot outside, and it takes place at an unofficial bar that appears to be in someone’s backyard. Natalie Morales and Neil Flynn star. A sizzle reel was shown which spotlights some physical comedy as well.

Project Runway

Project Runway is returning to Bravo with Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano, and the new season will have more diversity including a transgender participant.

Listing Impossible

The CNBC real estate series Listing Impossible has some billion-dollar listings and sellers who don’t realize that their stuff is just… ugly. This series will follow both the real estate agents and the sellers, and of course, audiences will get to see some really fancy houses.

Pearson

Pearson is the new spin-off from Suits starring Gina Torres as her character Jessica Pearson from that show, in a new location of Chicago. Eli Goree and Bethany Joy Lenz co-star. Torres promises that this series will show us as a Jessica Pearson as a fully fleshed out human being.
