Yeah I wish she hadn't been killed off so soon either, but on the other hand the big dramatic surprise was a great ending.

They should decisively show us a little scene with Chloe and Clark, like:
"-Chole, how did you convince Jor-El to restore Kara's memory? You haven't offer him your life in exchange or anything like that?"
"-Uhm, let's say I just told him what you really mean for me..."
*her face turns red a bit*
Our BDA knows what she's trying to say (for the first time ), even if she didn't say it straight (about the *love* thing) and at least hugs her
Other scene that can occur in future episodes:
Jor-El: "Son, I think we need to talk. You know the father-son-talk thing..."
Kal-El: "Oh please, it's a bit too late for that, you know, me and Lana..."
Jor-El: "Cut the crap son. Send her to Bizarro, so she won't be left with nothing and take care of Chloe Sullivan... Listen to your father for God's sake !!!"
Ah well, none of these two would ever happenComment

Jor-El not speaking was strange... Normally he's that chatty kind when someone invades his crib ... Maybe he was brooding al la Kal-El style.
I think Lex having so much footage of Kara being a normal girl will come into play somehow... Another missed op is that Kara asked Chloe what they were doing in the FoS indicating that maybe she doesn't remember the time she had no memory! She could have heard/seen something at the mansion.
Patricia Swann (the Swan Princess ) was definiately a missed oppotunity she could have given us and insight into the young Lex as well as Vertias. But her murder will prompt Clark to want to investiage and that will be good for his character arch. Maybe the big story Lois and Jimmy go after in future episodes is about this murder.
What was also a missed op was Lana and Chloe... After the mansion - where did Lana go? Then, after Kara's memory was returned - where did Chloe go? We had some character resotution with the Patrica at the end and even some Kara/Clark resolution but nothing about Lana saying she's kill Lex if he'd hurt Clark (or whatever she said). Did you see Chloes reaction to that..?
Lana has changed and Chloe needs to tell Clark just how much!!!Comment

maybe she faked her own death so that lionel wouldnt come after her
maybe it was a tranquiliser dart
or probably, they are just idiots and killed her off
now the book is the only thing that will be like a mother too him lolComment

For the first time since Memoria we have a fully fledged toture Clark scenario. I was really worried about all the pain he endured during the scences when he was locked in that cage.
Patricia Swann should not have been killed of in this episode. Now that she is dead all her father's research would have been comprimsed. Plus there is the question of who Patricia's mother was... I think her mother was Bridgett Crosby. There was a conversation between Bridgett and Martha in Crusade when Martha slyly asked if Bridget was in a relationship Dr. Swann and Bridgett repiled, "In another lifetime."
If Lionel has killed off the last of the Swanns and the Teagues wouldn't that put Oliver Queen in danger. Clark has to warn him that he might be in danger even if it is off screen.Comment
-
Wouldn't Oliver only be in danger if he has known about Veritas. He was a child, he probably knew nothing, and still knows nothing.
The biggest missed opportunity was no fireside(or loft) chat between Chloe and Clark. The episode didn't feel right without it. But I too think Patricia would have been a great recurring character.Comment

To be honest, I'm glad there wasn't a pseudo-romantic moment. No Lana, no "will they/won't they" to close off the episode, just an ending that seems like there should be a "to be continued" shown.Comment

huge lack of psychological pain... plenty of physical pain... i wanted to see him shaken by the event
----- Added 3 Hours and 3 Minutes later -----
lack of any real anger towards Lionel from anyone... god i wish Martha were here to have seen this... she would have given him a peice of her mind. anyone would have been good... Lana said she'd kill Lex if he hurt Clark, but she's not even gonna yell at Lionel?
also feel like an opportunity was missed for a really big fight scene at the beginning... i mean the guy said 'i can see why they want you'... but i couldnt see why lol
it could have been amazing, using his super hearin to hear their heart beats but getting caught by the taser, ripping it out, then shooting all the other tazers that were flying at him with his heat vision... i like him throwing the guy, but why not throw a few more, have a bit more action? when he first threw the guy he could have tried to speed away, but he didnt. he just stood there... god it could have been edge of your seat stuff... one taser at a time slowly slowing him down as the men came at him one by one, and they all end up on the floor... but they have weakened him enough to get himComment

A giant magnet maybe? Seriously though, that's something I've wanted an explanation of for ages. Perhaps it was asking for too much, but given all the other references to past episodes ("Lockdown", the Swanns, Teagues and Queens, 33.1, etc), a line from Patricia saying her father had access to the caves via the messages Jor-El had given him would've been great. I do hope that it'll be mentioned in the journal instead.Comment

^Sorry Xrayvision, but the explanation is way more simple.
Distance is a very relative concept on "Smallville". How else would you explain the fact that Chloe works at the Daily Planet but sleeps in her flat at the Talon?Last edited by GuardianAngel; 03-22-2008, 09:32 AM.Comment

The it would have been a fine thing for the two in a brief but fruitful conversation rsolve their differences, at least to join in a common goal, to save Clark. Kara and Jor-el's
talk could have have gone something like this.......
"Kara."
"Uncle Jor-el?"
"My wife loved you almost as if you were her own. But I could not trust the daughter of Zor-el."
"He was my father! I thought the world of him. He seemed to be the wisest and kindest man there was. You think it's easy to learn the truth?"
"I trust you have finally learned your lesson and that I am not letting a wish cloud my judgment. You are my son's last hope."Comment
