If you look at the comic Micah shows Monica about St. Joan she's holding a dagger on the cover. The same shaped dagger is in the vault where the virus is kept!

Yeah, on the commentary Alan Arkush kept going throughout the scene, "And there's a werid dagger" "And all of that mysterious stuff in there, the cards, the dagger!. It was kind of humorous. The best part is, this means Monica is going to join the central storyline next volume.
