The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between World's comes out Friday!!!!!!!!!!! It is apparently a sequel to A Link to the Past, taking place 6 generations after it...not sure how that effects the timeline you all were talking about.

It is the same map of Hyrule and is the same top down modelling in terms of the viewing screen. There are key differences though as dungeons are different and 3D is worked into the game but in this case it is actually useful. Also the touch screen is not used to move around the character like in previous gameboy zelda games, specifically spirit tracks and the phantom hourglass. They went back to using the control pad which makes movement it tight spaces easier. The biggest difference is you buy/rent the weapons in the game. So when you get to Lorule..the Dark World you can tackle the dungeons in any order you want except for the sand dungeon which requires a tool you can not buy

Pros: lots of exploring, nostalgia factor, opened ended story, turning into a wall painting leads to new tricky puzzles, dying has huge consequences as rented items are returned to the shop, no fairy telling you what to do.

Cons: a little simplistic as most dungeon focus on one item, same old story of saving the 7 sages (descendents) and Zelda.
