But really, I hated the acting, I mean, the last scene.

    "Chlo-e...I.....love.....you"

Eesh, I'm sorry but corny much?

    That's the episode's writing...

I thought acting was very good actually. I hate it when actors are all emo and crying and shaking and all kinds of messed up and angsty.

I actually thought Linda Carter did an amazing job at the end! She was supposed to be slipping back into a catatonic state...and it looked like it. The way her eyes got droopy...and her words slurred. I was really impressed, as I was with the other characters as well. Allison had one part at the end that bothered me...when she was sitting infront of her mom the "Not now...don't leave again..." Thats the only part that felt pretty fake to me...but a second later she got it together...and the "I love you too mom" broke my heart. So it was only for a spilt second. I think a lot of people are getting the acting mixed up with the writing. The actors aren't in control of what they have to say....but how they say it.

Michael and Allison once again got top marks from me. Lynda was okay, I dunno, she was just kind of...boring... Kristin and Tom did well, Kristin a little better.

Its funny how people who feel Lynda Carter acted well have no examples of convincing scenes and those who think her acting was too robotic and scripted, use examples of it!

Her presence was a letdown. And I feel bad saying it because she was the only draw to the episode. LC probably doesnt do a whole lot of acting these days anyway. So it doesn't come as a surprise that her portrayal of Moira mostly stunk.

              I disagree (respectfully). Sorry, this
is going to be long. In another thread
I mentioned my aunt and sister. My aunt
died of Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), a truly
horrible disease where the body breaks
down but the mind is still fully aware.
My aunt was a nurse and a year after her
diagnosis died on Valentine's Day. Before
her death she was in a nursing home and
had very limited range of motion. She
              would communicate with an alphabet
chart and a light strapped to her forehead
which she was able to (barely) move to
indicate letters. She would tell the nurses
about health issues and concerns of her
fellow residents, but had lost the ability
              to control her facial expressions.
My sister in 1996 was diagnosed with another
horrible disease called cerebral vasculitis; it
caused irreparable brain damage. She has
some control, but at times, it is like the
lights are on but nobody is at home. And
finally my mother died six months after
being diagnosed with cancer. I was there
at her death bed (the hardest thing I have
ever had to do, but also something I will
never regret). I had been living in Japan
and arrived at the hospital at what ended
up to be the day before she died. I rushed
to the hospital to find out that she had been
clinging to life to say goodbye to me. The last
words she ever said were to me, and
she said, "I love you." The look in her eyes
was eerily like Lynda Carter's during the
end scene with Chloe; there, but not. Also,
I see that same expression in my sister's
face at times. My sister (Linda-i not y but still...) was absolutely lucid the day before her symptoms manifested, but she underwent what felt like
a very rapid and yet very slow progression from an animated to a very flat affect. Mental illness comes in all shapes, who is to say what form it will
take? I expected it to happen, but it was
              still very hard to watch.
Lynda Carter has actually done more acting
recently than not. Sky High, Dukes of Hazzard,
little cameos. She was definitely playing a character, in my opinion. There was a little twinkle
in her eye playing the principal in Sky High. She
may not be a terrific actress (this from someone
who worshipped her growing up) but she wasn't horrible either.

First of all, my sympathies to geminis and her personal experiences, but this is the first time I have seen the entire episode of 'Progeny' since my satellite was having problems when it first aired.

Overall, I thought the episode was rather excellent. It was very clear that L.C. as Chloe's Mother knew that she was slipping away from lucidity and I thought she pulled off a believable job of it. Nice to see Lynda Carter, man she was super in her day.
