In the 8 p.m. hour were NBC comedies My Name is Earl (6.4/10) and The Office (6.0/ 9), which will of course pick-up steam in the young adult demos, the CW’s Smallville (3.8/ 6), and Fox sitcoms ‘Til Death (3.3/ 5) and The War at Home (3.0/ 4). There was nothing unusual to report from 8-9 p.m. last night.

Smallville (3.8/ 6) Same as the last two weeks.

More detailed fast national ratings released later.

Please feel free to tell me I am wrong...

...but there seems to be something that should be considered with Smallville's ratings. Admittedly, they don't pull in the numbers that some other shows do, but you also have to consider that the vast majority of Smallville's viewers are in that younger demographic (18-30 [I think]) that advertisers drool over. So while more people may watch "Earl" (a fine show by the way, but my loyalties are with Smallville), you have a very good concentration of desireable viewers with Smallville.

Also, the idea that Clana = Ratings.

And give further creedence that crappy episodes *cough Subterranean cough* get crappier ratings regardless of who is the star.

Remember that it was the Season Premiere of Survivor Fiji which might of had an impact on the ratings.

What I don't understand is the over 500,000 viewer jump (4.42 to 4.93) in the second half hour. I was very bored in the first half and if I wasn't such a loyal viewer I would have changed the channel. The last 5 minutes of the show was about all I found interesting.

yeah Survivor premiered last night. Damn you CBS! But I think Smallville is doing pretty well compared to other CW shows.

Smallville is still the CW's top rated scripted show and #2 for all shows only Top Model is higher.

The problem is the CW. Last week it was the number 6 network.

Based on ratings for the first week of the Feb. 2007 sweeps (Thursday, Feb. 1 – Wednesday, Feb. 7), Univision finished as the fifth-ranked network (ahead of the CW) in total viewers (4.17 million), adults 18-49 (2.33 million) and adults 18-34 (1.27 million).

Not really.. episode was promoted quite poorly compared to the previous 4, the trailer wasn't even that exciting and survivor was back.

                              Im not surprised really.
