Only for security reasons, eh Lex?! That's !@#$ing nasty, if I were Lana I would move out the second I saw that tape, it's a total invasion of privacy, and if it were actually for emergencies only, wouldn't the remote be out in the open instead of concealed in a box on Lex's desk?
I wonder if they used a body double when Lana was changing....

And to responmd to what you just asked NoSoupforYou, I heard somewhere that KK is very modest and private about that kind of thing. She has used bodydoubles in the past for certain scenes in smallville (like when she strips on the divingboard and while skinnydipping with clark) I also read something (not sure if its tue or not) that in a photo shoot a couple years back where she had to pose in lingerine, she actually cried before she did it.

Judging from that im assuming that they used a bodydouble.

BAM! That's a good point. But Lana has always had a double standard when it comes to secrets and lies.

I just think if Lex wanted to watch Lana undressing he would have done it more cleverly and made sure the quality of the recording was better. I really think it was just a security camera.

I like what someone else pointed out... that it was as if Lana is an expensive and precious piece of property that Lex is guarding.

Seriously. If it were for protection he wouldn't have a home theatre-esque viewing thing in his office, set to play Lana undressing, no less. She accepted that explanation WAY too easily, especially when she's so distrusting of Clark.

The whole camera things is incredibly stupid. If he really had cameras all over the place, don't you think that he would see Clark superspeeding in all of the time? I thought the whole idea of making these cameras part of the plot creates so many inconsistencies during past episodes.

Well he DID say that they were only viewed in emergencies. I mean, it's kind of a stretch to think that no emergency has ever coincided with Clark using his powers in some way, but that sort of semi-deals with that plot hole.

That's why I've never kept a diary. Those things exist to be found imo.

If I were Lana, and I *knew* the cameras were in there, I'd start dancing, making funny faces and may actually look into the camera while using it as a mirror to pick my (or her) nose.

Naw, I'd just pull a Speed and hack into the camera system, and just endlessly loop porn. That, or convince oh... Jonathan Kent or Chloe to come over and play a little scene with me, give Lex a serious heart attack. I'd totally just pop up in front of the camera at the end and go "PSYCH! Also, you're a creep and I'm moving out."

And Lex is Lana's boyfriend which Clark wasn't back then.

Well, there's a difference. Clark wasn't watching her in any situations in which she could really expect privacy. He was just watching her on her front porch, which I'll admit is slightly up on the creep factor if you think about it too much, but it's not the same as putting her in a situation where she thought she was completely alone and then watching her covertly. He didn't use the telescope to peep into her shower or anything.
