I think it was meant to be funnier than it ended up being. The scene kind of dies the moment she shuts the door on Clark again before walking back out because neither of them get hung up on it. They don't even act like they're trying to ignore that it ever happened. There is no awkwardness or shyness from either of them.
The best part is Lois opening the door and giving Clark an eyeful. He definitely glances down. Attaboy! All she can do is stand there wide-eyed before clearing her throat.
