Maybe it's just me but I thought that the result of the break up with Clark was a little too much. As long as I have been living I have never seen a case where where after a hurtful break-up did anyone turn to an extream junkie in a matter of a couple days. I understand being hurt off a hard break-up leading to driking and maybe a lil dope but a full blown crack-head like junkie only after a few days, even as a result of a bad break-up? Where I'm from a crack-head is the lowest form of living and is basically one step above suicide (which ironically is what Lana did over and over). To have her mirror something like that so fast was a little too ackward to me. Anyone else find that a little weird? Like they put Lana's idea of Clark on a gold pedistol complete with millions in diamonds and rubies. Don't get me wrong a hard break up is like almost falling from heaven but they kinda over emphasized it this episode and in the worst way.

Was the crack-head angle too much?

One, it's TV, it's what they do. But over the course ofthe series, they've also cast Lana, as not being the most stable of characters. She NEEDS to be with someone in order to feel like a real person. She's had issues her whole life with people not accepting her for who she is. Even as far back as season one, she's been mad because epople just see the little fairy princess girl who watched her parents get smooshed.
I think it's something that's just been building, but at the same time, I also think it was just bad writing overall. Even with the background they've given her, she's not a consistantly writtenc character, nor very well developed. I just chock it up to another case of bad writing on smallville. -
Hal is right. Don't take everything on Smallville too seriously. I don't mean "Hey, it's fiction, DUH." I just mean that as Hal said, there are many inconsistencies in the show so just take everything with a grain of salt.... or a handful for that matter.Comment

Each episode doesn't necessarily occur within days but within Weeks and Months TOPS!!
Also Chloe Did say that Lana hasn't been confiding her.
For reasons of Chloe being snoopy.
(and i don't think it's because Lana can't trust Chloe)
All that anxiety building up with inside and Lana found a Magnificent release and got addicted to it to fill the Void in herself.
Try visiting the seedy side of town and talk to hookers and work in a rehab centers.
Let's Not forget that how much "secure" Lana looks thru the series She still longs for her parents that she hasn't have for quite a long time. Not to mention they Threw the Henry Small Arc out the window.

Technically it happened in Metropolis and it sure reflects the problems in this world like child abuse in 'Ryan'.
I saw it too After she took her hand off the cabinet and you can see the blood on her right knuckles when she was handling her bag.
The Smallville community kept a constant reminder to Lana abour her Parents and she did say that she hated that people always seeing her as the Little girl that lost her parents.
