Lex Luthor: Caring for Chloe or Sneaky Ulterior Motives?

Has Lex ever done anything without a sneaky ulterior motive?

I honestly think the one person who Lex truly tried to appease died.
I saw an honest Lex when he tried to gain Jonathan's approval.
Jonathan's dying will have an affect on Lex, in a negative way.

But, I still think that tonight it's all about ulterior motives!

Lex knows Chloe knows some stuff about Clark (Commencement/Arrival) and saw this as the perfect opportunity to have his "Dr.s" at Bellereeve extract it from her brain.

That and he is looking for any opportunity to get closer to Lana. What better way than playing the concerned gentleman?

Those were my thoughts exactly. Im amazed at the end Lex didnt try to still convince everyone that Chloe needed help and tried to drag her off the Belle Reeve. Or could it be this story line might not be over just yet???

I think it was sneaky alterior motives...Lex knew Chloe was in the arctic with Clark from the season opener. He just wanted to get into her head so he could figure out CK's secret. CK knew that about Lex too

Lex told Clark that Chloe was the one the Clark trusted with everything. When he said that you could tell that he was up to something. He wanted to get in her brain for sure.

He had other motives, like getting to Clarks secret. Thats probably why clark broke out chole in the first place

No doubt that Lex had a little more then Chloe's well being on his mind. The guy knows that Chloe is close to Clark, and probably has a good idea that Chloe is Clark's confident. Certainly having her committed would've been ideal for Lex to pry into Chloe's mind, and I am sure Lex has put it together that Chloe knows Clark's secret. Nice try Lex, but not this time. I believe Chloe would give her life before she would ever give up Clark's secret, and I am sure that test will come sometime down the road, take care.
