They killed Sheriff Adams! Noooo! I liked her. And shot in the back, what a way to go. Smallville is more dangerous than the old west.

Isn't it funny/sad how this is one of the first episodes where Sheriff Adams was a totally sympathetic character? She was even NICE and COMPLIMENTARY to Clark.

Poor old girl. It's always a bad thing for the resident "hard-nosed" character to go soft. It's like begging to be killed off. She might as well have said, "I'm retiring in two days."

Goodbye Sheriff Adams, you were truly one of the more interesting and colorful characters on the show

I'm surprised no one's broken into a chorus of "I shot the sheriff..."

I'm going to miss her lines. "Nice work, Mr. Kent. That garage was cleaner than my grandmother's kitchen." "The next time you report a murder, I'd better see a stiff." "Any reason you'd might want to goose these boys with a little crank call, Miss Lang?"

Her dialogue was just about as good as Chloe's.

I loved her last dying words. They were classic.
                        "Well ain't that a mother"

Boy did I not see that one coming. I am sorry that she has "left us." It is to bad, but it had to be done. She did her job till the end.

Same here. Now that there's a locked-up sheriff and a dead one, I think it's time someone tells me how many cops have been killed or have gone to the dark side in Smallville?

When I heard the shot and saw the blood I was like,
"What the hell?! This isn't Lost!"

                              awwww, RIP Sheriff Adams!

I hated her at first, but I than I started liking her and now she's gone. She was pretty funny.

Contrary to unpopular belief, Sheriff Adams was mentioned after her death. When the two cohorts were unsuccessfully attempting to persuade Lana that they were the victims, Lana told them:

                                "Tell that to Sheriff Adams."

So, actually, she did get a mention afterwards. And I don't think Clark's facial expression combo of disgust and anger upon discovery of her body was too out of line, either.
