Splinter was 1 of my favorite episodes. A silver Kryptonite rock is mailed to Lana, and she thinks it's from Lex (when actually it was Milton Fine who sent the silver Kryptonite rock). It cuts Clark's finger and he gets a splinter inside of him. He becomes paranoid and thinks everyone is against him, including his father and mother. Clark throws his mother and father around, and Chloe saves the day with green Kryptonite. I love it when Martha asks Chloe: "Chloe, how long have you known about Clark's secret?" Chloe answers, "About a year." Jonathan responds with, "How much did Clark tell you about himself?" Chloe says, "I think he told me everything."
Clark comes to Lana and says, "You're the only 1 I can trust." He tells her that he thinks Chloe and his Mom and Dad are against him. Actually he thinks Chloe told Lionel Luthor his secret, and that his Dad, Jonathan accepted money from Lionel for Jonathan to become a Senator, if Jonathan told Lionel Clark's secret.
Clark thought he saw Lana and Lex kissing one another, and that Lex was plotting against him. He throws Lex around, and goes after Lana and almost strangles her. Milton Fine saves the day by taking the splinter from Clark's shoulder. He says, "If you hurt Lana, it'll destroy you." He tells Clark that he is from the planet Krypton, also. Clark tells him, "I thought I was the only Son from Krypton, but you people keep on popping up." I loved the quotes from Splinter, especially all the ones that are listed in the Splinter Quotes thread. After Milton Fine takes the splinter out of Clark, he feels better, and no longer feels paranoid. I loved the part with Chloe saying to Clark, "You think I told Lionel. I would never do that! I'd die before I'd ever betray you, Clark," and "You know I have to admit that for once I'm glad I'm not the object of your desire."
I also loved the speech between Clark and Milton when Milton talked about "humans" as if they were something bad. Clark had an intelligent line: "You don't know anything about this race. Yeah, they can be petty, and dishonest and betray each other over nothing, but they can also be honest and loyal, and they would give up everything to protect someone they love, even if they are from another planet. My name is Clark. I'll always believe in my friends (Pete & Chloe) and my family (Jonathan & Martha Kent)." I didn't mention Lana, because she doesn't know Clark's secret. I loved this episode. it's one of my favorites.
