  • Veronica Mars Cast in Other Roles

Here's an excerpt from an article about the movie...

    Pulse goes to Mars
    Mar. 30, 2005
    Source: Hollywood Reporter
    by: Mike Sampson

"Veronica Mars" star Kristen Bell has signed on to star in the long-gestating horror flick PULSE for the new Weinstein brothers company (temporarily named Weinstein Co.). The film set to go into production back in 2002 with Kirsten Dunst starring and Wes Craven directing but Dimension Films pulled the plug at the last second saying the script was too similar to THE RING. At the time Craven said, "We were all terribly excited about that film and we had the rug pulled out from under us...I could see that movie in my head, it was really going to be scary and fun. It’s extremely frustrating to not be able to do it." Considering his experiences with the Weinsteins on CURSED, you couldn't expect Craven to return to the current iteration of the film. In fact the studio has hired commercial director Jim Sonzero to make his feature debut with the project. The film is based on the Japanese film KAIRO by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, which follows a group of teens investigating suicides related to kids who used a webcam that supposedly allowed them to talk to the dead. Ironically, Harvey Weinstein yesterday compared it favorably to THE RING and said he hoped it would launch a similar franchise... Give up trying to understand Hollywood folks, just give up...
Milian and Bell Feel the "Pulse"
Posted by Scott Weinberg on Monday, Jun. 06, 2005, 12:44 AM

Scott Weinberg writes: "Variety reports that pop star Christina Milian ("Be Cool") and actress Kristen Bell ("Spartan") have signed on to appear in the Weinstein Company horror flick "Pulse." A remake of the Japanese horror movie "Kairo," "Pulse" begins shooting in Romania later this month with first-timer Jim Sonzero at the directorial helm.

Wes Craven ("Scream") and Ray Wright adapted the original film into "Americanized" form, which is described as such: "Plot surrounds a Web site powered by a sinister force. As more users go to the site, a door to terrifying evil is opened, and some college kids witness a string of bizarre deaths among their classmates.""

Fifty Pills - New Kristen Bell Movie

    Plot Summary for
    Fifty Pills (2005)

Darren Giles has lost his college scholarship, can't work up the courage to ask out the girl of his dreams and can't even afford to stay in college another semester. Unless he can survive the teenage dominatrix, New York's largest drug mogul, convince his parents he's not gay, write a paper on Dante's Inferno, escape three thugs chasing the wrong guy and sell fifty pills of ecstasy in time to make his tuition payment.
Kristen stars as Gracie... and she is listed immediately after the actor playing Darren Giles. Eddie Kaye Thomas is also in this movie.

Deepwater - Another New Kristen Bell Movie

Kristen doesn't seem to play as large a role... she is listed in the 8th spot... and credited as Nurse Laurie... but here is the info...

A drifter comes to the town of Deepwater and is seduced into a twisted game of deceit and murder.

Deepwater had a lot of creepy, stylish, music-video type moments. The camera work was beautiful, and once you get to the end of the movie, the style of these sequences makes even more sense. I didn't feel like these scenes took away from the dramatic moments which were the core of the movie.

Reefer Madness - Showtime Movie Starring Kristen Bell

An outrageous tongue-in-cheek musical comedy adaptation of the classic 1936 anti-marijuana propaganda film.

It began as a movie way back in 1936... then it became a stage musical... In April 2005, REEFER MADNESS returns to its roots and airs as a movie musical for premium cable network Showtime! The production boasts REEFER stage alums Christian Campbell, Robert Torti, Kristen Bell, John Kassir, Harry S. Murphy starring alongside Alan Cumming, Neve Campbell, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Spanger and Steven Weber. The film was helmed by original REEFER director Andy Fickman from a screenplay written by creators Kevin Murphy and Dan Studney. All three executive produced the film in partnership with Bob Greenblatt, Jim Veres and Jan Korbelin. The vast majority of the songs from the 2001 Off-Broadway production are featured in the film, with the addition of a brand new duet "Mary Jane/Mary Lane," written especially for the movie! REEFER MADNESS: THE MOVIE MUSICAL world premiered on January 27, 2004 at the world-reknowned Sundance Film Festival.

I think you should start a KB movie thread and post all her movies and upcoming projects in there, just dont think we need a new thread per movie IMO, or ask a mod or adm to merge the existing threads together just a thought

Definately a good idea... only did it that way in case people wanted to actually talk about the movies individually... but yeah you are right... probably makes more sense to have them together!!!!

Is this something along the lines of Lake Placid, or another Jaws type movie? Or, what was that made for tv movie a while back about the giant squid in the lake...?

Yeah, its would be easier to find any of KB's movie or other possible TV projects if only one thread exists, but thanks for posting the movie projects YQ22, "Fifty Pills" sounds a bit like the movie "Go" not a great movie but funny. Any Idea on a release date?
