  • The Story of the Faithful Wookiee (1978)

The introduction of Boba Fett... and the only part of the Star Wars Holiday Special available on Disney+. It being an animated Star Wars story, I guess, makes it a precursor to Star Wars Droids, Ewoks, The Clone Wars, Rebels, Resistence and now The Bad Bad. It being made by the same animation studio as Droids and Ewoks.

Fun seeing Luke fly a Y-wing for a change. Y-wings are often overlooked. Heck, in The Force Awakens, the resistence used only X-wings (and nothing else).

Not sure what else to say about it. Liked that they had some aliens among the rebels. In A New Hope, the rebellion seemed to be all-human (despite Tatooine establishing numerous alien races existing).

As for the rest of the special. Never seen it, but I know that Bea Arthur was in it. Apparently, she performed a musical number, that was seen as one of the special's high points. As for George Lucas, his involvement with the special was apparently limited. No idea why they had it be a variety special, rather than simply a TV movie, like the two Ewok movies made in the 1980s.
