Disney+ has ordered a six-episode prequel series of Beauty and the Beast centered on Gaston and LeFou, with Luke Evans and Josh Gad set to reprise their respective roles. It is currently uncertain if any of the film's other stars will appear in the upcoming series. Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, creators of Once Upon A Time, are attached as showrunners and executive producers. Along with Gad, they will also write scripts for the show. The three have worked together in the past as writers on the scrapped Disney+ series, Muppets Live Another Day. Reports suggest that it was shortly after the show was scrapped that the three began to explore the idea for a Beauty and the Beast prequel series.
