  • Fridge thought on the physics of Cap's shield

The physics of the shield seem inconsistent at first glance. It's super bouncy when Cap throws it around and the opposite when it's blocking attacks. I just realized it all makes sense if the shield redirects the force of impact outward to its edge.
When Cap throws it, the shield is striking objects with its edge. Redirect that outward and it's going straight back into whatever it hit, with the equal and opposite reaction bouncing the shield away.
Hit it straight on, though, and it dissipates that force radially instead of relaying it through to Cap. The shield hardly moves because the force is close enough to equal in all directions.
The kicker? Hit it with something really strong like a blow from Mjolnir, and you ought to get a shockwave radiating out from the shield.
Maybe this has been theorized before or is how it officially works in some of the comics. It was a new idea to me, though, so I thought I'd share.https://myip.kim/ https://birthdaywishes.onl/ https://elecpay.in/tneb/
