Ah, crap. So, who will Ted Raimi and Bruce Campbell play?

Xochitl Gomez has been confirmed to play America Chazez. Rachel McAdams will return as Christine Palmer. Thought that it had been announced that McAdams would not be returning. Though, that probably changed with the changing of directors. Still not loving the idea of Sam Raimi directing this (rewatching his three Spider-Man films did not calm my concerns).

Not really a spoiler since it doesn’t give away anything about the movie, but this played at the very end of “No Way Home”.

Curious what origin that they'll give America Chavez. The original (where she hails from another universe, that's all female) or the more recent one (where she's from the mainstream universe, with the original origin being explained away as a fantasy, that she tricked herself into believing to deal with some trauma).

Personally, I'm hoping for the latter. Though, without the whole "believing herself to hail from an another universe" bit (which is just there to explain away the original origin, which isn't a detail needed in an adaptation). Just have her be a regular teenage Latina girl (from down the street or something), who gets drawn into all of this crazyness (in a post-credit sequence, the events are shown to have affected her biology (similar to what happened to Monica in Wandavision), causing her to manifest flight and superhuman strength). It's simple and direct.

The original origin feels more complicated. Also, she's supposed to be a Latina superhero... but she hails from a radically different universe, where everyone is female, with the women being able to have biological children with each other. A fact that raises some follow up questions, and implies that the women from this other universe have a radically different biology from the women of our universe (and the mainstream MCU). Basically, American Chavez would essentially be an alien, who is simply played by a Latina actress (rather than actually being Latina). What is her connection to the Latina girls, who sits down and watches her in this (and other films/TV shows)? Does she really represent them, if she's basically an alien? I could also see some controversy coming from them basically framing Latinos (and lesbians, as America Chavez is both) as beings from another world/universe.

I had to watch it a few times, but that was the voice of Patrick Stewart as Professor X?!? And from all the reactions posted so far, he’s part of The Illuminati!!! I can’t wait!!!

Judging by some of the footage of America Chavez, I'm guessing that they'll have her be a regular Latina girl, who acquires superpowers from all of this madness. In the comics, she's able to fly and has superstrength. At 1:23, she appears to fall, with Strange having to carry her. At 1:43, she ducks and cover, while Strange has to save her from a bus thrown by a tentacle creature.

1:41-1:55 (dialogue). That could be an opening to finally acknowledge Wanda's Romani ethnicity, that they've left unadressed for seven years (of course, she was adapted by Joss Whedon, and given the antiziganism on his shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, I'm not surprised that the character's Romani heritage (a vital part of the character) was seemingly dropped for the adaptation). Instead of her linking her being viewed as the enemy, for breaking the rules (while Strange is viewed as a hero), to her being a woman (while Stephen Strange is a man), have Wanda link her being seen as the enemy (while Strange is seen as a hero, for doing the same thing) to antiziganism.

I really don't want Wanda to say "Let there be mutants.". Mutants are a fictional minority group. A metaphor for oppressed minorities. Minorities are not magically created.

Speaking of Wanda and minorities. There is another opportunity to acknowledge her ethnicity: America Chavez, the lesbian Latina. It'd be easy to have a scene between Wanda and America, where America remarks on her own ethnicity, and having had to hide things about herself. With America commenting that Wanda couldn't understand. Only for Wanda to "come out" as Romani. Telling America that she's been keeping it secret all her life. Fearing prejudice, her parents told her and Pietro to always hide this about themselves. It'd be believable and realistic. A lot of Romani do hide their ethnicity, to avoid discrimination. An automatic, smaller plotline, for Wanda in the movie: where she finds the courage to go public with who she is, through interaction with America Chavez.

On another Wanda related matter: her sons, who will likely be in the film (judging by the post-credit scene in Wandavision). I really hope that they skip the reincarnation aspect, and just turn Billy and Tommy into teenagers/early 20s (that can now exist outside of Westview). Reincarnation feels like something convoluted, and possibly confusing (where Wanda's sons are suddenly reincarnated as two boys, who would've been born close to 20 years earlier. Also, there's, apparently, a question in the comics, if Wanda's sons where reincarnated as those boys... or if their souls took over the bodies of two already living boys). Not to mention, skipping the reincarnation aspect would allow Wanda a victory. I mean, she lost her parents when she was ten. Her brother in Age of Ultron. Then she got a new, sort of family, with the Avengers. And a boyfriend with Vision. Then the Avengers break up, and Vision is killed before her (twice). She tries to create a new family for herself in Westview, but had to give it up. With the reincarnation concept, Wanda wouldn't technically have them anymore (and, having been reincarnated in different families, they would call two other women "mom"). If Wanda's able to bring them back, and make them real, she would finally have a family again.

Of course, looking at Raimi's credits. In 2009, he co-wrote and directed a movie that played into stereotypes involving Romani (black magic and curses). So, one should probably not hold one's breath, that this film will finally provide an acknowledgement of Wanda's ethnicity (and a non-stereotypical depiction of it, if they did).
