WandaVision, which will introduce a grown-up Monica Rambeau, is slated to hit Disney+ in 2021.
The show will laungh in 2021. Apart from Wanda and Vision, it will feature Teyonah Parris as the grown-up Monica Rambeau. Bit surprised about that, as I figured that the adult Monica would be dealt with in Captain Marvel 2.
Kevin Feige dropped some more details about the show (including additional castings) Friday at D23 in Anaheim:
WandaVision, starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, debuts in spring 2021 and takes place after Avengers: Endgame as Wanda Maximoff deals with the loss of her partner, Vision.
Feige teased it as being half classic sitcom comedy, half Marvel epic. Filming hasn't started, but the team showed off a small teaser. It began with a 1950s TV set showing images from the Dick Van Dyke Show intercut with old scenes of Wanda and Vision together in previous MCU movies.
In addition to Olsen and Bettany, the Captain Marvel character Monica Rambeau, who was a child in that '90s-set film, will appear as an adult and be played by Teyonah Parris.
Feige brought news of additional castings, with Thor alum Kat Dennings reprising her role as Darcy Lewis and Randall Park back as Ant-Man and the Wasp character Jimmy Woo. Kathryn Hahn joins the MCU as a nosy neighbor since, as Feige noted, every sitcom needs a nosy neighbor.
This series seems like an MCU take on “Bewitched” with the series description and now this poster; both main characters having abilities as this unassuming “normal” couple living in the suburbs. I wonder if Vision will know he’s actually an android or Wanda know who she really is. I assume this will lead into Doctor Strange 2
Meaning, it’ll probably be pushed back to early 2021 (its original scheduled release date or later) and everything else will get pushed back too.
This really is unprecedented...I’ll be curious to see how the next few weeks/months go if we still don’t have control over COVID-19; not just for the entertainment industry but, everyday normal life.
The series has finally gotten a release date of: Friday, January 15th, 2021 meaning that our first MCU series will not premiere this year🥺...was really hoping for a Christmas premiere but, it’s only two months away as of today.
I'm assuming that the origin of Wiccan and Speed will be simplified. In the comics, William and Thomas cease to exist, then reincarnated as Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and Tommy Shepherd (Speed). They'll probably cut out the middle man. No ceasing to exist, then reincarnated. Just born through whatever magical plot device that they use, then aged up, as the show moves through the decades. After the whole thing is over, they'll be in their late teens or something.
0:38 Okay, so now Agnes is aware of what is going on (and might have a degree of control over the situation). Maybe she was faking, in that other scene, where she's dressed as a witch. After all, there are a lot of online speculations that she'll turn out to be Agatha Harkness.
0:23 Vision is so sleeping on the couch tonight. Also, nice super speed effect. Better than on The Flash.
