Ramsey did a good job directing this episode. Liked the deep dive into Oliver coming clean in public about what happened with his father and the bodyguard on the raft, it was great that Oliver's prison psych assessment came back to haunt him ... and we had some long overdue backstory for E2 Laurel too. Laurel and Felicity teaming up has worked all season, with this ep confirming it again.

Curtis wasn't an afterthought this time and had a good tech idea to keep the Ghost Initiative in check (since we can't call them Suicide Squad lol). The VR scenario was a nice twist, esp. when Diaz thought he had snapped Curtis' neck.

Even the Emiko - Oliver meetup was logical. She wasn't going to trust him immediately, and it will take time. They're wisely playing this as a slow burn.

My problem with this episode and the series in general is the lack of focus.
We have so many plotlines in paralell, that they are hardly making any progress. Half of them weren't even in this episode.

The past seasons had more characters than available plot, which was actually worse.
But trying to tell so many stories that you could fill 3 series with them, isn't a good idea either.

The worst offenders are the flash forwards, which are by far the most interesting part for me this season.
Yet every second episode doesn't have them and those that do, only have 2 or 3 short scenes.

      The pros:
      We saw China White again
Laural and Felicity. Especially Laurel trying to fit in.
Oliver talking about his father, which apparently even the team didn't know.
I'm actually interested in who is leaving behind those pieces of paper, now that we do that the "stalker" didn't

      The cons:
      No Flash Forwards
No Rene and hardly any Emiko
The Argus and Dante storyline is dragging. It started when Oliver was still in prison and seems to go nowhere.
Oliver's new hypocritical slogan (he has one every season). Again he is making promises that he cannot keep (not lying ever, to the public? seriously?)
And obviously it will come back to haunt him. This wouldn't be such a problem if we hadn't seen that 6 times already
