    Chapter 16
Arthur Jameson could never get enough of the view from his penthouse apartment in Gateway City, California. Little did he know that this would be the last time he’d have a chance to enjoy it. If he had, he would’ve taken a moment to really take it in. Jameson was 36-years-old with a receding hairline. He had worked his way up through the ranks of various syndicates, before striking out on his own two years ago. As he was having some scotch, 15 DEO-agents, led by Eve Welch, broke down the door.
“Arthur Jameson?” Eve said to him, “You’re under arrest.”
    “On what charge?” Jameson asked.
“For starters, murder. I’m sure we can find some more.”
    “Murder?”
“Alex Greer, Albert Caldwell and Ambrose Taylor. You were hoping to take over their syndicates, to expand your own.”
    “You don’t have any evidence.”
“Oh, I do. We were able to track a device you used to control one of your hitmen to this apartment. Of course, then there’s the fact that we’ve tracked the payments to Dr. Salkind back to you.”
    “How?”
“A minor tip,” Eve placed handcuffs on Jameson, “There’s always a trail. It’s just a matter of being willing to follow it long enough.”
Jameson was led out of the apartment and into one of the cars belonging to the DEO. Eve was glad to finally have caught him. She had her doubts whether what she had on him would stand up in court, but Jameson had long been on the radar of the FBI. They just hadn’t been able to arrest him for anything. With this, Eve was certain that the FBI was be allowed to investigate Jameson’s dealings and be able to nail him for something. Indeed, she was right, not only were they able to find evidence for everything from tax evasion, to cold blooded murder, but several of his people agreed to testify against him, after the feds put pressure on them.

Justin Gaines had the device in his neck surgically removed and returned to his normal life. With his telekinesis restored and no longer suffering from the psychosis of his teens, Gaines was able to return to his first passion and became a famous painter.

      Epilogue
Four months later Tess was walking nervously up and down in the bride's room, wearing a wedding dress. She briefly looked at the headline of the Daily Planet: “Mysterious Robotman Foils Bank Robbery”. Suddenly she heard a familiar voice say: “Relax, Tess.” Tess turned around and saw Lois Lane wearing a large coat and a blond wig, to disguise herself. “Everything will be fine.” Lois told her, before taking off the coat. Revealing a bridesmaid dress.
“Of course, you realize that I’ll be getting you for this.” Lois remarked.
“Oh, I’m counting on it. You know, if you two ever get around to getting married, that is.” Tess replied.
“Hey, the last time it was just because Dax-Ur’s Brainiac showed up in Metropolis.”
“Sure, it was.” Tess remarked smilingly, when Bethany Lee entered the room, also wearing a bridesmaid dress.
“Um, hi.” Bethany told Lois. “I don’t think we’re met. I’m Bethany Lee.”
“Susie Tompkins.” Lois replied, having been assigned an alias, like all the bride’s guests from out of town. Many wearing various disguises from wigs to masks, like something out of a Mission Impossible film.
“You’re Susie Tompkins? Wow. You’re not how I would’ve pictured you.”
“How were you picturing me?” Lois asked and gave Tess the evil eye.
“Oh, just different, you know. Anyway, we’re about to start in a few minutes.” Bethany left the room, but first noted, “By the way, do you know that there’s a guy out there, who looks just like Humphrey Bogart?”
“Um, yeah, that’s my uncle.” Tess replied as she picked up her bouquet. When Bethany was safely out of hearing range, Tess turned to Lois.
“Hey, don’t look at me. I told J’onn to come looking like William Powell. He said he wouldn’t come, if he didn’t get to look like Bogart. Clark’s out there, looking like the guy who played Stuart Tarleton in Gone with the Wind.”
      “Really?” Tess remarked amused.
“Yep. Now let’s get going.” Lois replied and walked after Tess, on the way to the altar.
