basically, Pedowitz (the head of the CW) said that they've realized that a spin-off show will not work because what makes SPN work are the J's (well, and Misha too).

And since they can't get/find that, they're pretty much giving up on any spin-offs of SPN.

A spin-off this late into the Supernatural season 14 seems pointless anyways.

I feel they really wanted to create a show that could keep going once/when the 'flagship' show ended but fans have sort of proven that if you don't have Sam and Dean? It doesn't work.
