  • Riverdale "Chapter Twenty-One: House of the Devil"

Okay, so we got the matter of the Riverdale Reaper cleared up. However, there's clearly more to this story. The Black Hood is presumably connected to the Riverdale Reaper. Perhaps he's the son of the Reaper. The death of the Reaper was never reported to the police, so the Black Hood's actions could be an attempt at revenge against the town that killed his father. It might go even deeper than that. Those five guys in that photo were presumably the guys that killed the Reaper. Perhaps they're related to the people that the Black Hood is targeting. One of the kids, in that school photo of Mr. Svenson, was a girl named "Gibson" (the same last name as Jennifer Gibson, AKA Ms. Grundy). Perhaps she's the daughter of one of those five guys (and the mother or aunt of Ms. Grundy), that killed the Reaper?

I'm thinking the Black Hood could be like Harry Volk in the SV episode "Hourglass". Someone that is trying to get revenge, by killing the relatives of the people that he felt wronged him. He just tries to pass it off as him punishing them for their sins, so no one will think to look deeper into the people that he's targeting. Otherwise, why isn't his pool of targets much bigger? He goes after sinners, which includes a sexual predator and a drug dealer, but also an adulterer and two horny teenagers. So, why isn't he blowing away the mayor and sheriff Keller? Along with Archie and Veronica (and whatever percentage of Riverdale High, that are sexually active)?

Finally, the Black Hood didn't kill Nick St. Clair, because he "isn't one of Riverdale's sons". His interest lies only in punishing the sons (and daughters) of Riverdale.
