RIP David Cassidy

Actor and singer David Cassidy has passed away. He's best remembered for his role of Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family. He also played Mirror Master on the 90's Flash TV series. Cassidy was the half-brother of Lois & Clark/Smallville alumni Patrick Cassidy and the father of Arrow's Katie Cassidy.

When it was announced that David was in the hospital and needed a liver transplant, I had a feeling we'd lose him soon. Still, when I read the news, it hit hard. I can remember watching Partridge Family reruns on TV Land (and a few other places) growing up and having a crush on David (and his brother Shaun).

I read his book about his Teen Idol years as well. He was the absolute archetype of teen idoldom, IMO.

Despite all that, he did have real talent, I felt. Both acting and singing-wise.
