    Stephen Amell in Ireland

Posting this to honor all my friendly and warm Iranian friends/neighbours AND the lovely city of Dublin!

My hubby worked in Dublin for six months and I still remember the good times we had in the Temple Bar district whenever I went to visit him:

Hope Stephen and Cassandra enjoyed the Guinness beer and the nightlife as much as we did!

I would correct your post people from Ireland are Irish.

I'm not sure what Swedish people would call them. I'm learning Swedish currently but I never learned what Ireland or Irish people are called yet.

I know that people from Ireland are Irish, and that they consider themselves very different from the English! However, in Dublin you have a very peculiar situation, because a large part of the people who work with computer soft ware, testing and anything that has to do with the Internet are foreigners, including Iranians, Indians, Middle Easterners, Eastern Europeans and some North Europeans (and that's why my hubby ended up working there, since his line of work is software testing). That has to do with the special Irish tax laws, which offer very advantageous conditions for multi-national companies like Facebook or Google. These companies have large offices in downtown Dublin, which mostly employ non-Irish professionals. Due to this influx of foreign workers Dublin is a quite multicultural city, while at the same time very Irish (e.g. all the pubs that serve Guinness beer, or the street musicians who play traditional Irish music).

BTW, Irish people are called "irländare" in Swedish.

Apologies for the off-topic content, but I think this might explain why Stephen Amell bumped into an Iranian in a Dublin fast food restaurant.

No sweat! I had no clue about this, until I visited Dublin myself and saw the huge Facebook/Google etc. offices and the people from all over the world who work in the IT-sector, and temporarily live in Dublin. This IT/high tech professional enclave is almost like a separate community from the typical working class/lower middle class Irish community which dominates in the rest of the city.

More Stephen Amell Ireland adventures. I'm loving this report from a European football/soccer match:

Of course, football in Europe is quite different from its American counterpart, as John Cleese expertly explains in this video:
