The plus is that taking their time means they might bring a good film to the screens. The negative is that it seems DC and WB don't really know what they're doing as far as building a massive cinematic universe goes.

If they keep delaying this Batman then they'll have to recast Affleck because he'll be old enough to take over Patrick Stewart's role as Professor X.

“There’s a chance to do an almost noir driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very very powerful way, that will hopefully connect you to what’s going on inside of his head."
That is how Matt Reeves says the Batman will be.

That would be great. Count me in (as if I wasn't already).

You mean the guy who literally has the nickname (among others) of "World's Greatest Detective" is going to get to do some actual detective work? Hot pants for the last dance, I'm down like a clown, Charlie Brown.

Matt Reeves says the film is a very "emotional" story and he's inspired by Christopher Nolan

He is also thinking about a possible Batman trilogy

So I'm guessing that if Reeves is not pleased with Affleck's portrayal he will play the role himself?

Not really any actual news about the movie but Kevin Conroy has declared that Ben Affleck is the best live action Batman/Bruce Wayne.

“You know, I thought it was weird when Warner Bros. didn’t give the franchise to one actor when they first started doing the films. You just assumed they were going to cast a Batman and he was going to carry the whole franchise. But then when I saw the different ones — Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer, [George Clooney], and Christian Bale — all the different takes, this was really smart, because each actor does it so differently. And I love seeing all the different takes. I think some of them get Bruce Wayne more than they get Batman, and some of them get Batman more than they get Bruce Wayne. I think Ben Affleck has probably gotten the best balance of the two. He’s a really good Bruce Wayne and a really good Batman.”

Joe Manganiello knows his status as Deathstroke in the film but, is not at liberty to say.

It looks like the inclusion of Deathstroke (though recurring) in S6 of the CW's Arrow all but seals Joe Mangangiello's fate as the character in the Batman solo film.

It sucks for Joe. Must be very frustrating to work with people that flip flop so much.

    Affleck will return...as a producer: https://pursuenews.com/ben-affleck-i...as-a-producer/

I'm guessing it's similar to Christopher Nolan getting a producer credit for Batman v Superman and Justice League, even though he had nothing to do with those movies. Just trying to sweeten the blow for Affleck. I wish they would just come out and say that they want to go in a different direction. Leaving any actor in limbo for so long is ludicrous.

It is fine with me I never liked Aflek as Batman, I thought he was too old. We have had so many Batman movies already I don't think we need another one.
