Lena being adopted...

In her first scene, Lena tells Clark and Kara that she was adopted by Lex's family, when she was four years old. This is, of course, something original to the show and I am wondering where they are going with it (surely they wouldn't introduce something like that and not explore it).

Keep in mind, this is from the same people that introduced Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash as "Harrison Wells", Hunter Zolomon/Zoom as "Jay Garrick" and J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter as "Hank Henshaw". So, given their track record, Lena Luthor is probably going to be revealed to be another DC character before the end of the season. But whom?

Probably wouldn't happen because it doesn't make sense and I really want to see Katie McGrath play her, I'm going to say Zatanna.

Though post Crisis on Infinite Earths Lex's daughter Lena was named after his foster sister Lena.

Pre-Crisis Lena Luthor was Lex's younger sister.
