My redesign of laura vandervoort as Brainaic 8

Laura does very well as Brainaic, and she's completely wonderful and menacing in that role.

However, I hate how they designed her character to look like a X-men rip off.... especially ripping off Mystique. So I redesigned her to look less a x-men character and more like a real Brainaic.

Yes, I'd go along with this design. It has that more robotic/techno look.

Supergirl has been great on many fronts -- FOTW costumes, sadly, have been hit-or-miss.

Next on the design do-over should be Silver Banshee. Like her character, love her potential on the series -- but I'm not a fan of her costume. Siobhan looks like a college girl going to Costume Night at the campus bar. I think Silver Banshee's look should scare the bejeezus out of Kara and friends. They could make her terrifying (and hot ), while still being PG-13 friendly for an 8 p.m. audience.

Right now, Siobhan looks almost adorkable.

I'm alright with her design currently just lose the orange dreads.

She seemed to look better this episode than her previous episode.

Hopefully she upgrades to looking more like her comicbook appearance though she started out blue in the comics before changing to teal in color.

But of course it had to be one of those things where it looks better on paper than it actually does on a real person. some costumes don't translate too well to being worn by a real person...

So if I was to redesign Siobhan... I would play up the "curse" greatly, and make her look like she was being possessed. She starts out looking like a normal woman, but then everything she touches starts to corrupt, even the clothes she wears. so she ends up wearing those ghostly-looking, wispy ragged clothes like this: http://www.obrienclan.com/uploads/4/...913771.jpg?261
And every time she screams, her skin and organs turns transparent to reveal the skeleton inside, giving her this eerie out-worldly look. like so:

only the Skeleton glows as the skin/etc turns transparent. I think that would be a pretty cool effect.... but alas, I don't think CBS's cgi budget would allow for it.

Laura is pretty much the Brainiac 8/Indigo from the comics design-wise, and doesn't actually look anything like Mystique, so "close but no cigar".

Yes, they did. Laura's Indigo has blue skin, PINK hair, and the triangular forehead lights. You can't get any more "straight from the comics" than that.

her hair looks red, not pink at all. and in a certain light it even looks orangish-red. It's NOT PINK.

Also, the Brainaic 8 of the comics had a black outfit in addition to blue skin. This TV version has a whole blue outfit with no black in it to balance out all the blue. In fact the blue cloth on blue skin almost gives the appearance of her being naked... just like Mystique.

Hence why I complained that she looks too similar to Mystique.

It's decidedly PINK, with a slightly blonde tinge in certain lighting.

If they did actually dye her hair pink then I have to say they did a bad job. I mean, there are dyes out there that can get them the desired pink shade on blonde hair without it being too permanent.

Actually... they might had used spray-on hair color, which is why it looked so weird. cheap spray-on color never looks great on hair at all....
