That was a cool reveal and I feel bad for Tess. Although, that's what you get for trusting someone like Lex.

I thought it also brilliantly nailed Lex as the evil monster we were always waiting for. Which made it doubly disappointing when we didn't get to see him again until Finale

This also has a really good guest actor character arc. We don't get to see that all the time in Smallville, at least post-season 3 Smallville.

And ugh, I swear I won't beat this dead horse, but man, they really wasted Martian Manhunter here. They could've used him as a really big teacher for Clark, especially with him on the force. Instead he only gets a few moments.
