Zelena is his step aunt/step great aunt. Hook could be his step dad. Robin Hood could be his step dad and step great grandfather. im so confused lol

It makes me surprised that wasn't the FIRST thing Emma tried after she heard that she was facing the wicked witch.

If the writers had decided to not go that route, that could have set up for a potentially funny scene:

*Emma throws water on Zelena*
Zelena: Water? Really?
Emma: Well it worked in the movie.
Zelena: There's a movie about me?
Emma: Well I mean...and some books too.
Zelena: And what do they say about me?
Emma: Well they call you the wicked witch of the West.
Zelena: Well at least they got that part right.
*Zelena casts a fireball at Emma as Emma avoids it*
Zelena: Next time, try something less...liquid.
*Zelena disappears*

That sounds about right. There's basically two family trees for the various characters, that intersect at different points.
