One thing about Cas now being an angel, even if it isn't his personal grace, is that he is now being set up as the third faction in the war. Malachi being the "anarchist" and Bartholomew being like Naomi was, and now with the grace of an angel who just wanted to go home and do whatever Metatron wanted (Cas used the term "barbarian")....I'm also wondering more about Heaven's dungeon and the fact that Metatron release Gadriel as well as "others".... that would be Gabriel I'm sure of it.

God brought Gabriel back and locked him in the dungeon? That would be a pricey judgment call on God for the only archangel that did the right thing in trying to help out the boys.

I was thinking of the dungeon as more of a plot device to be able to bring other angels back. Gabriel being an angel I think will come back. Perhaps it was Naomi or another angel (Michael?) who might have tossed Gabriel in the dungeon to keep him away from the fight? The fact that there might be a Purgatory in Heaven is intriguing....

Does this mean the ex-pornstar from last week's episode isn't going to join the gang and be a regular? That's a missed opportunity. There's lots of monsters that could probably be seduced into a hunters' trap.

This was not Kevin's best work. The yellow name card "Zeek" put on Kevin's blasted corpse (spoiler!) should have read, "Kevin Tran: Advanced Placement."

In Paradise Lost, God (through Jesus the errand boy) instantly forgave the angel who let Lucifer sneak into the Garden. Basically, it wasn't the angel's fault, said Jesu. Lucifer was destined to mess everything up as part of the aftermath of his revolt in heaven + God's insistence on humans having the freedom to choose sin or faithfulness. So, it's possible the angels just didn't forget and forgive Gadriel so quickly or they didn't get the word, or Supernatural just has everybody act more vengeful than the average mythos, etc.

Angels killing each other just in response to being on earth is sort of dumb. It's too hollow. If they really genocided each other this easily they'd have gone extinct long ago. What's next, somebody finds out how to get free HBO and the other angels slay that angel for it? I'd have liked to see their earthly progression be a tad more like a good-guy version of the Leviathans. In other words more angelic coolness and goodie goodie takeover strategies that'd show us their character and how they were surviving and thriving because their inner worth surpassed humanity's (just as the Leviathans' criminal genius surpassed our own). Oh well, one of Supernatural's favorite refrains is that angels aren't better than us. But they're impersonating humans a little too well here. It's like, what's the difference between these falling angels and a paratrooper invasion of frenchmen? Nothing. That's what's disappointing; there should be a little bit of something extra in these angels. They should have something left to lose, and fighting to hold on to their remnant of greatness. The show is portraying them as already so morally gray that they're no better than us after spending like 5 minutes here. Nothing shiny about them a'tall. 'Tis a letdown from a monster creation standpoint.
