You're off by a year. Tommy and Oliver were born in 1985. Which means they turned 8 in 1993 and 10 in 1995.

I'm not sure why that should matter to me. It has declined in quality a little, but, like I said, it's more entertaining than last season. People THINKING that it's getting better and better doesn't make it true. I wonder what faction of that group though are mindless shippers? Either way, others biases don't matter to me. Why didn't you just argue
your point of view? What should the opinions of others matter to you?
Regarding Count Vertigo, Ollie shot more than one arrow just in case (sometimes one is not enough), but it seems you care more about keeping dangerous criminals alive than the victims.
Your argument is heavily flawed as you appear to care more about the lives of dangerous criminals yourself over their victims. Oliver and Felicity are dangerous criminals. They have both been complicit in the murders of several people. A criminal murdering another criminal doesn't make them any less of a criminal. By YOUR logic the cops would be completely justified in blowing them both away.
If you really think Ollie is a criminal, then why you keep watching? I stop watching Agents of Shield a few weeks ago, now I don't have to tolerate its campiness and mediocrity, I have better things to do than to waste my time with bad tv shows.
Oliver IS a criminal. That's a fact. Murder is a crime. Hence the term criminal. Either way, I don't know what my liking of the show has to do with Oliver being a criminal, as I never said that the show was bad and I don't why you'd think I thought that. I like the show very much. And there's still a few likable characters in here too, Diggle for instance earned some major points last week when he decided not to murder Deadshot, there's Det. Lance who hopefully is gonna be back to taking down Hood, Laurel could help him just to get her far away from that dumb hack-level storyline she's got going, Roy's a pretty solid dude, and they've got some exciting villains up in here. It's pretty good. As is AGENTS OF SHIELD.

Obviously he knew what would happen. But that wasn't why he did it. It wasn't to kill Dent, it was to save the child. That's what I'm saying.
And also, that first arrow...it was to save Felicity; I'll always say that, but I'm not arguing about the extra arrows...that was Ollie wanting Vertigo dead as a doornail and that bit was too much.
That's what I said. He saved her with one arrow, two more was just malicious and bloodthirsty. Which WASN'T what Batman did. Which is why I said your comparison wasn't appropriate.

If it's part of a larger scheme to have her hit rock-bottom and find the resolve within to rebuild and renew herself, this larger picture has yet to reveal itself. With Canary being so intertwined with Ollie's destiny, the pendulum should swing closer to what she represents in the comics than to pleasing this or that fan base. Fickle is definitely the word.

My concern is that Ollie-focused shipper fever (and not just Olicity, but any other potential one: with Isabel, Shado, etc.) could easily sweep aside any progress Laurel may make. Laurel is a lead character, which means if push comes to shove in the character development department, she should be near the front of the line -- not sidelined to accommodate the latest trend.

It reminds me of the handling of Lois Lane's awkward entry on Smallville, at least initially. Writing and lackadaisical planning was the main culprit there. Won't get into that here (it is a Pandora's box), but essentially I found it outrageous that, on a show about the future Superman, there were voices that did not even want Lois to be on the show. I would hate for those sentiments to develop around Laurel.

The silent majority are the casual TV viewers who just want a good, entertaining story and good characters, who are neither concerned about comics minutiae nor the latest online-driven fad or trending ship on a show.
Might be hard to believe on a show about a comics superhero, but I think the moderates in the viewership are the viewers you don't want to alienate or turn away.

It needs to be said: Black Canary is no second-rate superhero. She is a founding member of the Justice League, arguably second only to Wonder Woman in prominence. If this is the legacy that Laurel will rise to by series' end, it deserves more attention -- and respect -- than to be sidelined for story arcs that may get short term ratings, but cost Laurel or even Ollie's character development much more in the long term.

I still hope for the best for Laurel, we may yet be surprised ...
I mainly agree with you guys. This sidelining of Laurel with this dumb drug addict storyline is downright annoying on all levels. As a fan of Katie, and as someone who was eagerly anticipating this great build to her becoming Black Canary, I can't say I'm happy with this development. And making Sara into BC just feels so cheap, and I think it takes something away from Laurel as a character too, the idea that if she ever becomes BC that it won't actually be a persona she constructed on her own. Laurel should be right smack dab in the middle of this storyline with her sister, and she's relegated to side-character Henry James Olsen ****? WTF?

I couldn't have said it better myself! However, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel for Laurel and her storyline. Here is a tweet that Kreisberg sent today:

Laurel's next big story arc begins in 209 and Mz Katie Cassidy hits every episode out of the park
I'm not going to shout hooray just yet, because the Arrow showrunners have disappointed me so many times already, especially when it comes to Laurel's season two depression/addiction storyline and the meaningless inclusion of the Sara as Black Canary plot device. I do hope Laurel gets a story arc that will bring her out of the depression quagmire and on the road to her transition to the Black Canary. It doesn't have to happen overnight, but I don't want to see the writers derailing her character development or keeping her out of the main action/major story developments, like they have done so far (or so it feels, anyway).

It was inside his company though! I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for felicity to destroy/alter the footage

Not sure about how Thea being his daughter plays importance except add more drama to the whole thing.

Felicity and Oliver moments are soooooo goood..... whyyyyy must it be sooo goood....?! I want more yet kinda feel scared at the same time. We ultimately know Oliver must end up with Laurel...but the sad thing is knowing nothing will come out of this Felicity and Oliver relationship and if they screw it up we'll be all over this.
    I love Felicity/Oliver moments:

"It feels really good having you inside me. OMG. By you, I mean your voice and by me I meant my ear....I'm going to stop talking now."

Haha I loved when she went undercover at the underground casino. That was great.

i'm guessing the opposite. Oliver said he saw her die a second time. I think she'll try to help them and the guy will kill her for that. Otherwise Oliver might have been more hostile towards her when they reunited. But that's just my speculation

I personally don't mind if they put the Lauriver romance on a back burner (I mean, it was on a back burner for the most part of season one as well!), but I want to see them interact for more than a few minutes (or even seconds!) in every episode...
For the first part, i was going to say the same thing. I don't think people should be too concerned with laurel this early in the series. The show is great and I like to believe it will survive a healthy amount of seasons. Assuming this is so, there is plenty of time to mend the relationship between her and Oliver. How boring would it be if they got together at the beginning and there is no conflict? If it's meant to be, they will find their way to each other.

And as for the second part, I agree. Even though their relationship is inevitable, it'd be nice to see a little more interaction between the two, even as friends. Although, perhaps not in this episode. As some others have mentioned previously, I, too was bothered by the fact that Oliver seemed unperturbed by laurel acting as prosecutor, which would not have been allowed in real life due to conflict of interest but I guess even great shows like arrow aren't without their flaws
