Yeah, he sort of was like that, wasn't he? I think, if one were to simplify his thought processes, it would be, "Here I am, stuck on an Island with a former frat-boy and a woman who I care about but I can't say that and still maintain my own advice to the kid," or something similar. Not to mention he was clearly exasperated about solving yet another mystery.
According to producer's statements, when Roy wakes up after being cured (so they are confirming Star Labs gets the cure finished) he has no memory of the past seven episodes. That would put his memory loss between "Heir to the Demon" and "Time of Death". So that's going to be fun, especially since they don't plan for Oliver or anyone to tell Roy he killed a cop.... that won't go down to well. Anyways, the reason I mention this, what if it affects Slade's mind in a similar way? He might not lose the Mirakuru strength, but what if it wipes out everything the insanity has made him do, from keeping the Mirakuru onward (meaning he wouldn't remember the Amazo).
