Managing to make Tess a character we can actually root for is one thing the writers got right. I like her this season.

yeah, that is an understatement! How creepy, gross and disturbing is the notion that she slept with her half brother!

I don't think she did. One of the good things about making her Lex's half-sister is that it makes plausible the idea that Tess was nowhere around Smallville in the early years, even though Lex trusted her enough to run LuthorCorp if he should become incapacitated (or worse). Once Lex found out she was his sister, he would have kept her in the company, but away from him, especially if any kind of romance started before he found out. If they had slept together, their reunion in the last episode would have been uncomfortable for them...especially Tess.
