Smallville Worst Moments Elimination Game

Hey boys and girls. Just letting you know I'm having Elimination game withdrawals and am currently working on a list of all the worst moments of Season 1. I thought it'd just be a case of tweaking the Favorite Moments list, but not so. The list looks significantly different to the S1 Favorite Moments list.

I intend to follow the same format as the Favorite Moments thread i.e. post lists for each season that we will whittle down to the 5 Worst Moments of each season, then have a final 50 Worst Moments of all 10 seasons vote-off to determine Smallville's Worst ever moment.

I should have the S1 list up in the next week or so. I will edit this post to include rules and definitions of "Worst" Moments, plus the S1 list. At this stage the S1 list looks like it will be approaching 200 Worst Moments!!!

Hopefully we'll get the usual regulars rolling up, and get some newcomers. It's great fun reliving all episodes of Smallville via these lists. Here's your chance to go to town on the Great Show and confirm all those moments you really didn't like over the years.

We got through 10 Seasons plus the 50 Favorite Moment vote-off in just over 7 months. This is another opportunity to maintain your contact with the mighty Smallville for maybe the next 8 or 9 months. Please join in.


The Top 5 Worst Moments of each Season

Season 1

1. Jodi runs over a deer then liposuctions it into jerky & does the same to Dustin under the football stand (Craving)
2. Sean Kelvin freezes & shatters Jenna Barnum, which Clark hears about in the limo & kills the date (Cool)
3. Greg attacks his Mom, then molts, then Clark finds her web-covered & desiccated body in Greg’s room (Metamorphosis)
4. Justin severs Dr. Wells’ arms in an elevator fall after he helps a screaming Rene out of the jammed lift (Crush)
5. After they take Ryan from the Kents, James Gibson shoots his wife then the alley janitor, then tries to kill Ryan (Stray)

Season 2

1. At Smallville Foundry, Clark is caught spying by Eric Marsh’s thugs, & is bashed & thrown into the furnace (Witness)
2. At school, Clark coldly tells JK that he was never his father & shoves him into the truck door, injuring his ribs (Red)
3. Spiteful & vengeful Chloe accepts Lionel’s offer of a Daily Planet column for a full profile on Clark (Exodus)
4. Clark is inconsolable after finding his actions killed Martha’s baby, & finds a red-K ring to take away his pain (Exodus)
5. Chloe angrily berates Clark for not manning up & telling her the Clana secret, & ends the friendship permanently (Exodus)

Season 3

1. After Clark “rescues” Lana from the Ferris Wheel, she accuses him of stalking her, & Seth calls him a loser (Magnetic)
2. Lana & Chloe get snotty & offended when Clark expresses suspicion about the vigilante rather than Jake (Extinction)
3. A McNulty green-K bullet pierces Clark’s hand & embeds in his shoulder, almost killing him, but JK intervenes (Extinction)
4. Clark rushes to stop Lex shooting Edge, but is taken down & badly beaten by a krypto-bead wielding Edge (Shattered)
5. At Metron, Dr. Teng tells Lex about the serum trials & shows him the shaking, pale, open-sored & dying Adam (Resurrection)

Season 4

1. Lana & Chloe trick Brendan & try to escape, but are horrified when he throws & shatters Haley’s severed head (Forever)
2. Clark is devastated to find Alicia’s body in a noose, before he races off in a rage after Lois tells him it was Tim (Pariah)
3. Arriving Clark & Alicia silence a raucous Talon, then both unforgiving Lana & Jason angrily diss Clark & Alicia (Pariah)
4. Lana lies that she is there to watch Clark, then a juiced Jason gives the OK to rough up a juice-weakened Clark (Devoted)
5. After Lex picks up a woman at a hotel, a maid is horrified to find her bound & bloodied body beside Lex in his bed (Bound)

Season 5

1. Blackmailing Lionel enrages JK, who bashes LL, has a heart attack & staggers out to die in MK’s & Clark’s arms (Reckoning)
2. Lex is horrified & Clark is inconsolable after speeding to Lana’s accident & finding her bloodied & mangled body (Reckoning)
3. Dream Lana hemorrhages after child birth, but Lionel refuses Lex’s pleas to use the Luthor helicopter to save her life (Lexmas)
4. Clark is gutted when he catches Lana & Lex kissing, then gets angry with Chloe for not telling him about Lexana (Fade)
5. Lana is devastated when she catches Clark with Simone in the loft, & he tells her that he’s in love with the new girl (Hypnotic)

Season 6

1. In flashback, Duncan hates Lex using the stolen tests to pal with Ollie, then is splattered by a car after Lex bashes him (Reunion)
2. In Quebec, a possessed man rips out chunks of MM’s guts, before the wraith bloodily bursts from the old man's chest (Phantom)
3. Lex furiously bashes Dr. Langston to death after he attempts to extort $2M from him to keep Lana’s pregnancy secret (Promise)
4. As Clark looks for clues on the escaped Zoner, an officer is attacked by Aldar & has his spine & skull grimly ripped out (Static)
5. After Chloe saves her with her meteor power at Reeves Dam, Lois wakes & is horrified to find Chloe dead nearby (Phantom)

Season 7

1. Lionel gruesomely drags his hand out of the bear trap & escapes, but is whacked in the face by a Lana shovel (Action)
2. At LCHQ, Lex shoots out the window, rips Lionel's key locket from his neck, & heaves him out to fall to his death (Descent)
3. At Isis, Brainiac confronts & stabs Lana in the forehead & eyes with his hand tentacles, making her eyes bleed (Veritas)
4. Teague is disgusted that Clark doesn't want his destiny, green-K KOs him & gouges the El symbol into his chest (Quest)
5. Chloe sobs as she sees devastated Clark weep in Lana's lap, after she murmurs a zombie "you’re too late, Kal-El"(Veritas)

Season 8

1. Clark & Lana break a bed, before he lilts about working side-by-side with her, then Chloe gives LC blast news (Requiem)
2. Lana shows & ruins a Clois kiss, then Doomsday crashes in, bashes Clark, shreds Jimmy’s guts, & kidnaps Chloe (Bride)
3. SuperLana lectures Tess to drop her Lex hatred, then calls Clark to the DP roof to share a “now we’re equals” kiss (Power)
4. Chloe nightmares that a romantic interlude with Davis in the basement ends when she finds a mangled Clark torso (Beast)
5. Bloody-handed Chloe is deeply distressed as she disposes of Doomsday’s mangled victim in the Talon dumpster (Stiletto)

Season 9

1. Feisty Zod regains command, then angry Chloe abuses "inhuman" Clark for refusing to turn time to save Jimmy (Savior)
2. Mean Chloe disses Lois as a girlfriend who’ll run & who’s holding Clark back, & breaks her picture & heart (Persuasion)
3. Clark kisses a seducing Zatanna, after he laments his hero reality, but his love for Lois overcomes her spell (Warrior)
4. After Clark hexes himself, he violently intimidates a terrified Tess, but Chloe neutralizes him with green-K (Persuasion)
5. In FoS, Tess beats Zod to a pulp with green-K knuckle-dusters, before he callously & critically burns her face (Salvation)

Season 10

1. At FoS, Jor-El scoffs at his son’s pride & warns an evil will feed on Clark’s weak soul & stop him saving Earth (Lazarus)
2. Evil Lex skewers angry Tess, but as she dies she toxin-wipes his memory, blanking him, then LexCorp returns (Finale)
3. After picking darkness in Godfrey, Clark & Kara track him, but Kara has to save doubting Kal from Darkseid (Supergirl)
4. Lois finds a plot to rule city water, Clois blurs to FoS for Jor-El’s OK, & for insight he gives Lois CK’s powers (Prophecy)
5. At WT2, Lionel savagely bashes powerless Clark before K-lens Ollie twigs, CK gets the box but Lionel hitches (Luthor)

Thankfully John has thought laterally and come up with a few more interesting and viable versions. The "Worst Moments" should keep us going into 2014.

OK folks, I've found some time to get the S1 list completed. As always, please feel free to let me know if you believe I left out any "worst moments".

Remember, this thread is aimed at finding the WORST MOMENT IN SMALLVILLE HISTORY. Once we get the Bottom 5 for each season, I will add them to the 1st post in this thread. If you like a moment as listed then vote it out. This is about voting for the moments that made you screw your nose up.

WORST can mean:

- cringeworthy
- tasteless
- gruesomely violent
- unsatisfactorily or uncomfortably sad
- uncomfortable
- painfully shocking or upsetting
- hurtful to a character (e.g rudeness)
- bad acting or writing
- distasteful
- a character (usually Clark) is harshly treated
- a mistake spoils part or all of the episode
- cheesy/embarrassing/ridiculous
- it doesn't make sense
- massively anti-canon
- a poor continuity moment
- someone is painted a light that was unfair/made them look unfairly bad
- it made you angry or unhappy
- it was awful for whatever reason you choose
- the moment was just wrong, and should not have happened.


SV S1 TOP 50 WORST MOMENTS RULES:

- The Moments will be given 3 points a-piece.
- For each post you make, you must add a point (+) AND subtract a point (-) each from two different moments. Please highlight your votes in bold.
- Please check that you are voting after the LAST post in the thread. Ksite tends to refresh to the 2nd last page of the thread.
- Once a moment reaches 11 points it is SAVED. These moments shall be listed under a heading SAVED above the main moment list.
- Once a moment reaches 0 points it is ELIMINATED. These moments shall be listed under a heading ELIMINATED above the main moment list.
- 11 point top score and a 0 point elimination should mean we achieve the top 50 pretty close to when we eliminate the last moment.
- Once the first 20 Moments are saved I will increase the voting to double or even triple points to speed up Round 1.
- No back-to-back voting – at least one person must vote before you vote again (unless during 1 hour reset).
- Unlimited back-to-back votes between two posters in Round 1.
- If there is no voting after 1 hour, the voting can be reset.
