I really feel sorry for Ashley. With time having been frosen for almost 30 years, she's been 8-9 months pregnant for 28 years.

I think it was a good move for the show, to have Emma become involved with local law enforcement. That way, she'll organically become involved with whatever happens in the town. It's a problem Smallville had. An example would be "Reaper", where Lana finds out the FOTW is going after Whitney's dad... and she goes to 14-15 year old Clark Kent (rather than calling the cops).
