After Returns he was hoping he was gonna return in a sequel but his contract expired in 2009 and still express interest in reprising the role until Cavill was casted. He when he heard Cavill was going to be the new Superman he probably wasn't please at the fact he wasn't asked back, he was all hyped up being the new Superman in 2006 and was hoping he was going to star in a series of films fighting and throwing a punch at a villain.

We don't know people told him that he looks too much like Christopher Reeve.

He really wanted desperately a second chance as Superman as you may read.

When I first heard it was going to be a follow up to the Donner films I thought this is so wrong because they were 25- 30 years old and I was more shocked about Lois & Superman having a son.
