Yeah I also agree with the whole thing about his reign of God being over already. We were led to believe it would've been like that almost all season. But as brief as it was, his stint as God was really believable. He really made me believe he was the Lord in this show.

Liked it, especially Misha playing a psycho. Didn't like how Sam's scene was cut off and just left there... Seems a common thing they do with him though. They never really show things from his POV, we hear of them later, but they aren't filmed. I think Dean should've been more concerned that Sam was missing. The blood was just left on the floor..
Where did he think Sam would randomly run off to?

I'm just sick overall of Death, Crowley and the angels stuff. Want more Sam and Dean.

Don't forget Misha's acting as Misha in The French Mistake.

I brought this up too. Cas playing God could have *easily* been a seasonlong plot. I would've thought that's how it was originally planned before all the complaints about Cas by the Cas fans after the finale had it not been mentioned beforehand that Cas would not be a regular in S7. I think that was the one mistake in doing that--though this show is about the Winchesters first & foremost, Cas being a regular in S7 would have worked well in giving a seasonlong plot with Cas playing God and saved the Leviathans for next season. Though if you think about it, they didn't even need Misha/Cas as a regular to do that if they had him unleash new creations of his own on the Winchesters from time to time.

The Leviathans are an awesome plot, but had they been delayed another season, we could have gotten an extra season of Supernatural. I think the producers knew that this will be the final season & didn't bother doing godCas as a seperate plot, which is really unfortunate given how good those plots could have gone. Then again, it may have been similar to the Eve plot with her making starships, but I'm sure they could have made it vastly different with the worship angle, plus Michael & Lucifer being in the cage. I take this as a lost opportunity, but from the ratings alone, I don't think it will be since Supernatural will likely be cancelled if it doesn't end by itself this season.

I read a comment on Youtube about how Missouri Mosely could have returned to help Sam train in using his powers in season 4, which I didn't think she would have fit into. But one area where she would fit in is season 7 if she's involved in the plot of the Winchesters finding out what Death wants them to learn about souls from what he said in Appointment in Samarra. If what he wants them to find is something about the resiliency/power of the human soul & how to tap into it & use its full potential or how souls could be split or infused with angels or other beings, then Missouri would be a good character to bring back since she knows a lot about spirits/souls & would definitely be able to help them. Plus, I would like to see them take a trip back to Lawrence & Stull Cemetery.

I thought the premiere was pretty good. I got the feeling with the Leviathans and souls all fighting inside Castiel, that he was being influenced by not only a power trip, but the Leviathans themselves to be more brutal, hence the massacre at the political office. Even the crazed look on his face in that surveillance video was reminiscent of the way he looked at the end of the episode. But maybe someone already mentioned that. I honestly couldn't imagine them playing out Castiel as God anyhow, and now they don't have him, as much as a like Castiel, to be a deus ex machina, as he seemed to be at times. This looks to be a very interesting season. I gave it a 9/10.

Superhippie I was thinking the exact same thing hopefully this season will make up for last year's season which I thought was a little boring.

I really enjoyed this episode, it's my favorite premiere since IMTOD, that's for sure.

Starting with "Slow Ride" was inspired. Great recap song.

then Godstiel and his talk with the guys and poof, he's gone.

The angels in Heaven thing was creepy.

New title card! Not what I was expecting at all but very cool. The black and white juxtaposition was clever.

Oh look Misha is listed as "Special Guest Star". Cool.

Dean fixin' up the Impala (getting to be a habit!) and the bandage on Sam's hand from where he hurt himself. Nice little touches.

Godstiel going after the Preacher and the stained glass window with him on it! (you think Misha got to keep that? )

Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots are made for walking" playing as we return to Crowley. I almost hurt my face, I was grinning so hard. The King of Hell, how you have fallen. And Godstiel telling Crowley he could remain King of Hell.

Sam and his hallucinations and then eavesdropping (oh, Winchesters, when will you learn you should stop keeping secrets from each other! It only ends badly!).

Calling Crowley (and a new nickname for Sam "Giraffe". LOL) and a spell to bind Death.
BTW, if you're like me, you wondered what Crowley's sticky note on the spell said. Someone capped it (don't know who, unfortunately) so I thought I'd share (making it a link to not clutter up thread):
Bye forever you Fools. Kisses, C.

Godstiel healing the blind man. Awwww, how sweet. And the souls wanting out. Anyone else flash on that scene fromAlien?

Okay, so when they pulled up to rob the guy, that was Metallicar, right? She's restored now and we barely get a glimpse of her?

Anyone else disappointed that the doctor and his wife caught Dean and we didn't get to see how he took them out? I was. And Sam's look when he comes in and sees them tied up was so classic!Sam, I smiled.

They did the ritual there? With those people tied up? I maybe would have taken the thing with me and done it back at Bobby's or somewhere.

Death spilling the beans about Sam's hallucinations (What did I tell you about secrets, Winchesters?! ) and Dean trying to bluff Death. Cas showing up and the reveal about Leviathans and Death even called them "Old Ones" *happy squee*.

Godstiel's look at Dean when Dean orders Death to kill him was perfect and then breaking Death's bindings.

Death saying he would go find another world (and the Terry Pratchett fan in me wanted to say "going back to Discworld?" LOL) and then changing his mind and helping out.

Dean's given up? Sam praying to Cas? Dean watching porn? All good stuff.

Castiel trying to make amends (awww) and it doesn't work (Dean does not forgive you if you mess with his family, honey!).

Lucifer! Knew from the credits we'd be seeing Mark Pelligrino but yay for the way he returned. I love that Sera was playing the "what is real?" card so quickly. And of course Sam would wonder if he ever really got out. Very nice.

Cas is freed of souls, Cas is dead, wait, no he isn't, and then the Leviathans pull a fast one. Nice.

                Two other things:
1.) What about Jimmy, Castiel's poor host, his meatsuit. Is he still in there? Dead (and if so, did he go to Heaven?)? What?
2.) was it me or did Jensen/Dean look particularly pretty in this episode? I mean, you guys know I love both boys but am more of a Jared/Sam girl but holy Chuck, Jensen looked good in this ep! For a minute I thought it was because they'd just come back from break but they filmed the other episode first so that can't be it. Dunno, but I'll take it.

So a solid return for Show and our boys. I gave it an 8.
