I'm guessing Bobby saw the mother of the man in the asylum being possessed by the spirit of a shapeshifter since he probably saw the typical shifter eye effect in the photo.

its probably something bigger. creatures have been around a long time so dont think a shapeshifter back then would have been so shocking to see. its probably who that old dudes mother looks like.
