If Jonathan's heart couldn't handle having Kryptonian powers, why did Lois get Clark's powers for the day and then live happily ever after?

If I remember Jonathan - has ill hearth and he was older than Lois, but anyway in the show were much more people with Clark's powers (lightning transference in season 1 or 2, Lionel has them too in transference and it cured him ) So I think that writers just need the argument for Jonathan's death ..
