  • Seeing that Clark and Lois waited 7 years to marry, you'd have an idea on how a Superman series would be like.

      No doubt been busy. It's not so much a question of simply waiting, it's post-poning, until they've had some time to do it. Clark's got supervillains to fight (contrary to the belief of some, he didn't go up against his whole rogues gallery, during the show's run), disasters to prevent, lives to save. Occationally going on missions with the Justice League. Fighting off alien invasions, both solo and as part of the League. For much of the show, he'd resolve one problem, then another one would appear and then come to a head within a year (with Clark handling minor problems in the meantime), followed by the next problem emerging. Just look at the show:

      Season 4 (2004-2005): The quest for the stones run through the season. After they've been assembled, Brainiac arrives on Earth.

      Season 5 (2005-2006): Brainiac runs around and trying to get Zod released from the Phantom Zone. Eventually, he succeds.

      Season 6 (2006-2007): Clark manages to defeat Zod, but several other Zoners manages to escape. Clark spends the season rounding them up, while also dealing with 33,1.

      Season 7 (2007-2008): Clark has to deal with the final descent of Lex into villainy. Meanwhile, he also has to deal with problems like the last Phantom/Bizarro and Brainiac.

      Season 8 (2008-2009): Deals with Doomsday, Brainiac and other threats for the season. After Doomsday's defeated, hundreds of Kryptonian clones are created.

      Season 9 (2009-2010): Clark has to deal with all the clones, leading to an eventual confrontation. He also has to deal with Checkmate and other threats.

      Season 10 (2010-2011): When the clones left Earth, Darkseid shows up. Forcing Clark to deal with him, his forces, the VRA, Suicide Squad, Clark Luthor. The confrontation with Darkseid post-pones his wedding with Lois.

      Season 11 (2011-2012): Hank Henshaw becoming a machine; being exposed to radiation (that made it impossibly for him to be Clark Kent or with Lois for a while); helping Batman investigate the murder of his parents; helping Bart Allen with the Black Flash; traveling to the future; helping with the construction of the Watchtower outpost on the moon; meeting Wonder Woman and fighting Hades with her; dealing with coming out as an alien; the Manhunters and Parallax (while he's also forced into the GLC); jumping between different Earths; dealing with the emerging crisis;

      Every season presented Clark with problems, that he had to deal with. Towards the end, they were sometimes dialed up in numbers. We may not have a season 12 (2012-2013), 13 (2013-2014), 14 (2014-2015), 15 (2015-2016), 16 (2016-2017) or 17 (2017-2018), but there is every probability that he had to keep dealing with emerging problems 2012-2018. Why would all problems suddenly vanish, after 11 years of consistent emerging and presence? Heck, even the final scene has Clark having to run off, to deal with a bomb in an elevator.
