#6.22 "The Man Who Knew Too Much"

Episode 21 and 22 airing back-to-back on May 20th will not share the title.

"The Man Who Knew Too Much" is a Hitchcock film from '56.

    From Michael Aussielo:

Question: Got any scoop on Supernatural? —Kim
Ausiello: Series creator Eric Kripke warns that the season is “building to a left hook that I don’t think [fans will] see coming. We will bring all of this mythology to a head. We bring purgatory to a head. We bring the war in Heaven to a head. We bring the mother of all monsters — the wall in Sam’s head — to a head. All of it does come together, but I think in a way that’s really unexpected and surprising and really great.” Speaking of that ticking time bomb in Sam’s noggin, how does Kripke (who penned the finale) plan to resolve that? “You don’t want to blow it off,” he says with a laugh. “You don’t want him to be a drooling vegetable on the floor either because that’s not super-exciting to watch last I checked. But I think it’ll be good. I think it’ll be really powerful and emotional. Hopefully, the fans will enjoy it.”

It sounds like it'll be about Sam, but it also sounds like a sequel episode to "The Man Who Would Be King", imo.

It does indeed. That was my first thought when I read the title.

OK, this is probably going to turn out to be wrong but I have a personal theory about what will happen to Sam this episode:
His wall will break, he will remember everything and instead of going crazy (Kripke promised us not that or drooling!Sam, right?) it will make him go total darkside evil. He will decide to embrace his long told destiny and claim his place as 'the boy king' and claim rulership of Hell. (Heaven too, maybe?)

It's just a theory right now, not fully fleshed out but Kripke seems to have a real penchant for Evil!Sam so...

I don't know what will really happen, but I don't think I could watch what could be the final season dealing with a full-on evil Sam.

I don't see full on evil Sam for all season 7 going by this from Kripke:

Quoting from Welling_is_pretty's TVGuide post in the "6.1 Let it Bleed" thread:

"The truth, however daunting it may be, will not tear apart the brothers. 'We're actually enjoying that, for the first time in a long time, the brothers are a really strong, cohesive unit, so we're going to keep them like that for the foreseeable future,' Kripke says.[/i]"

    From EW:

How much of this war are we going to see on Supernatural. It would be kind lame for them not to show the thing they’ve been talking about all season, right? — Rachael
Lame? Probably not. My gut tells me it would be for a good reason. Misha Collins agrees with my gut. “We’re not going to see a whole lot of the actual war that’s taking place in heaven. We’re going to see how that plays out with respect to Sam and Dean and their world. But the two definitely collide in the season finale,” he says. Another thing we can expect not to see? Cas in 300-style angel battle gear. “I would love to have some sexy, feathery armor, but I’m not getting any. It’s the same frumpy trench coat and suit,” he laments.

Any scoop on Cas’s new angel buddy on Supernatural? — Krystal
I wouldn’t necessarily use the word “buddy.” More like “reluctant ally.” “It’s hard for Cas to figure out who’s on his side and who’s not,” Collins dishes. “There’s a lot of duplicity and spies.”

Thanks for all the scoopage on the Winchester boys … I’m torn between excitement and dread for the last episodes of the season. Just thinking that what’s left is all we might ever have makes me want to have a little Hunter’s Helper and pass out in grief! I was wondering if there is any word yet on whether we will have a season 7? Thanks! — Gia
Save some room for me at your table, because I think we’re going to need to lean on each other for support after a likely soul-killing finale. Actually, let me back up. The heartbreak really begins with “The Man Who Would Be King,” the first episode being directed by fan-fave writer Ben Edlund. “It’s the story of Castiel looking over his life, and then it turns into Castiel looking into his relationships,” he says. “If it does it’s job, it’ll break your heart.” As for the chances of a next season, Supernatural showrunner Sera Gamble tells me, “We’ve cliffhung this season, so if you want to know what happens, you have to tune into season 7. So we have to make one.”

Those should really go to the "The Man Who Would Be King" thread as they're mostly about that specific episode.

A question though...when is Rachel even supposed to show up? Before, I heard episode 18, then 17, then 19 and then I heard 20.

I don't know, how many episodes is she supposed to be in? 'Cause if it's two, I would guess she'll first appear in "Frontierland" and then in "The Man Who Would Be King".

Yeah, this finale seems Sam-centric. Someone tweeted, I think it was Cliff, that Jared was the only one working for the next few days.

    *snickers* Poor Misha!

“We’ve cliffhung this season, so if you want to know what happens, you have to tune into season 7. So we have to make one.”
And that's the closest we've come to confirmation that we're getting Season 7 (which seemed pretty likely anyway).

Thanks for sharing that info, KM!

MAYBE this is from this episode(which was just added to Sebastian's twitter today), or maybe it was from "Let It Bleed" and he had just had time to post it, don't know. But, I'm posting it on here, haha.

I think something may be after the boys and Balthazar. Those sigils seem very new, imo.

He has some badass sunglasses in those set pics too, haha.

Plus, a lot of those pics look like they'll be in the gag reel.
