I don't think it's that he can't feel emotion I think it's that he doesn't care. He feels things but not like a normal person would. He could kill someone and that might just be like 'oh whatever' for him now.

i think he knows something is sad or knows he is angry he just doesnt feel it.

I agree. I think he is aware what he is supposed to be feeling, he just isn't feeling it. So he has just been trying to act the way he thinks he should...showing anger, sadness, etc... when he thinks the situation calls for it.
