I don't know about that...other than Aliens and T2 I don't like anything else of his. Then again I've never seen Titanic, True Lies, or The Abyss. Avatar was very boring IMO.

I am looking forward to this. I am totally unfamiliar with the comic book story, but I did the preview in Apocalypse.

When I read All-Star Superman, I liked it, but I couldn't get past the cheesiness. After seeing the trailer, though, I've thought about what the story is really about at its core, and I'm actually looking forward to seeing it. I'd even like to read it again from the right perspective.

I love The Terminator and T2, but he took the whole idea of it from someone else and lied about it. Avatar not only bears resemblence with Pocahontas and Fern Gully, but also a book from the 50's written by a Russian author about a paraplegic who puts his mind in the body of a tall, blue-skinned alien on another planet. And True Lies is basically a goofy Bond film with Arnie.
I disagree that Avatar lacked creativity. It had predecessors sure, but so does every other movie. Avatar just got more attention and so it was put under a finer microscope. I am particularly against the analogy to Fern Gully, as it implies that Fern Gully was the step forward in creativity.

True lies is just a pop corn flick. I wouldn't describe it as a goofy bond flick, as it is equally goofy to the bond flicks, so "goofy" is redundant. Tia Carrera would have made for a great bond girl back in the eye. She was really hot in Kull: The Conqueror.

I admit that what bugs me the most is the level of praise and attention that Avatar got, and the hype that James Cameron built up over a film that's strength is to show off 3-D technology. The screenplay aside, I don't think the film advances any narrative film techniques, certainly didn't do anything innovative with camera movement, mise-en-scene, or editing. Did it have to? No, but Cameron had the audacity to say that Avatar would change the way movies are made forever. I really did like Avatar, I just never liked the hype that surrounded it - or that people actually bought into the idea that there is nothing else out there like it.

...You really know how to grind my gears.

There is actually slap-stick comedy in True Lies. The plot relies on misunderstandings and lack of communication between main characters. The boss of the fictional organization Arnold Schwarzenegger works for wears an eyepatch. As goofy as some (alright, most) of the Bond films are, I still don't think it's fair to lump every film in the series together and label them goofy, as it does a disservice to the more serious efforts, such as From Russia With Love, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and Casino Royale.

So I would not call it "redundant." I will call it a "Roger Moore."

It kind of changed the way movies are made in that almost everything is being made in 3-D now. I find this extremely annoying, and it adds to why I don't like Avatar. I found the movie laughable. Aside from the unoriginal plot, I didn't care at all about any of the characters. I laughed when people died, and it's not because I take death lightly - I just honestly didn't care. I hated the humans, as we were supposed to, but I also found the blue people (Na'vi?) extremely annoying. Additionally, Jakesulley was kind of boring to me. So, because I didn't like the characters at all, I didn't care about the "breathtaking" special effects, and the 3-D aspect only added to my frustration. The hype this movie got and the praise it still gets baffles me.

Wish reboot Superman films were like Allstar Superman comics.

I just saw this a few days early..let me say i didnt really like it. they really made everything in this movie seemed random without saying what the reason for the things going on were. the battles were anticlimatic too. the best parts were the lois and Superman scenes where they focused on their relationship and how they felt about each other plus the scene with Clark and martha was really nice.

Superman dealing with his mortality is a nice thing to see for a man who thinks he is invulnerable, this was a nice approach from the comic and to movie, but for random things to happen with little to no explanation, it really hurt the film. the animation is top notch though with the characters looking like they came right out of the comic.

Overall: rent it. its not the best Dc animated movie. it had potential to be but it lacked a true story at the end of the day.

i seen it too. i feel the same way. Wish they would have did Birthright instead. But I'm still buying it just cause I have the other ones. I'm DC fanboy. Have to have it in my collection.

I watched it. Boy, it's really easy to tell this came from Grant Morrison.

I agree with the comments that everything seemed very random. Things just sort of happened, seemingly without any rhyme or reason. It actually felt a lot like a 50's B-movie, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're into that.

This probably isn't going to be one I re-watch any time soon. It's just too out there.

the whole solaris thing really irked me. i hated it in the comic but i hated more in the movie. no explanation as to where he came from and hi deal with luthor was not shown....if it doesnt show up on screen it doesnt add to the story. i liked all-star superman as a book. it felt right, but as a movie it just doesnt seem right. if they focsed on the characters more about superman dying then it'd be a greater movie than most. like i said, lois and superman scenes were the best parts.

                                [SPOILER]
Yeah, that whole Solaris thing was completely out of left field.

Additionally, I didn't like Superman's reaction to Solaris. Solaris wants mercy and Superman says that he doesn't have any left and kills him. What is that doing in a Superman movie?
