  • Hatians power never would have done what Peter wanted

He would have to stay in proximity to Nathan his entire life to keep Sylar from re appearing even if he managed to erase sylar.

It's already been proven that the healing ability can restore an erased memory..... Can't wipe sylar out permanantly, his healing ability would bring him back eventually....

Peter didn't think the plan through.

Peter isn't in the habit of thinking through any plan. For instance, in last season's finale, he did all the heavy lifting, yet was blatantly excluded from it's fruition.

One question though. In the elevator when Sylar shapeshifted into the nurse's aide lady, why was he able to keep a shape and choke and throw Peter with the Haitain's ability?

So in essence, if the Haitan is walking down the street and doesn't notice Sylar, Sylar can tk him? But in season 3 in the movie theater, Daphne's super speed didn't work because the Haitian was in proximity, yet unaware of her.

It seems to me that The Haitian has the ability to "broadcast" his power negation generally, which affects all Heroes in range regardless of if he's consciously aware of them, as well as using it to target only specific individuals.

Ok, then maybe Peter just didn't know exactly how to use it? Because if he could "broadcast" his ability, then Sylar wouldn't be able to remain shapeshifted into the nurse, or choke him and throw him.

It takes conscious energy/effort from the Haitian to "negate" other people's powers (as evidenced by his struggle to neutralize Arthur), so it stands to reason he does not walk around with it "always on". He must consciously "turn it on". He can also turn it off when others are close by if he so desires, or selectively use it on some and not others at the same time (we've seen him do this). So anyway, Peter probably didn't turn it on yet, likely in order to "lure" Sylar close to him with a false sense of security.

Exactly. We don't know the range of the Haitian's ability, but I'd say at least 50 feet is a reasonable minimum. If Peter had the power negation broadcasting and if Sylar had gotten that close (e.g. on one of the hospital floors above or below Peter) and suddenly lost his shapeshifting ability, I think Sylar's smart enough to realize something is up and make an escape before Peter would even realize he was nearby.

Either that, or Peter hadn't been expecting Sylar to show up so he hadn't activated the power yet.

The Haitian can pick and choose wich memories to erase. Maybe with someone who has multiple powers he can allow a power to work while blocking all the other ones. Maybe Peter could have allowed shapeshifting while blocking healing and erased Sylars memories forcing the Nathan personality to take over the body.

Maybe The Hatian has learned to keep him power block on a all times....while he sleeps eats etc.. etc...

Peter didnt have the Hatians power "turned on" in the elevator because he had only just started his plan, he was taking the drugs out of the Hospital via the elevator when Sylar "surprised" him in being the nurse, Peter wasnt expecting Sylar to attack so soon, hence the bag full of meds, to knock Sylar out with, under his arm....

I think the shapeshifting ability is only needed for changing the shape, not keeping it. otherwise the original shapeshifting dude wouldnt have stayed in "Sylar-shape" after he got killed by Sylar.
But in this case Peter just didnt turn on the Haitian power on in the elevator anyway, to, as some have already said, lure Sylar closer to him.

I think Sylar would remain shapeshifted if the Hatian was around. He just would'nt be able to shapshift into anyone eles or even back into himself if The hatian use the blocking abliilty. Remember Sylar dose have to think in order to turn back into himself. He just would'nt have any powers. If Sylar turned into Molly and the Hatain was around he would actually be trap in a little girl form. Yeah suck with that. Since when did Sylar get super strenght or was he using TK when he lift Peter.
