whats with carthage?

i went back and checked and crowley said it was carthage, missouri. i looked carthage up and acourding to Wikipedia only about a 2 dozen men died in the battle of carthage. way more died in getteysburg. why did they make it sound like the battle of carthage was that bad they normally make sure that something that easy to look up is correct.

Carthage was where the very first battle of the Civil War began so I guess you might say that where all hell broke loose.

were did you get that idea? the first battel of the civil war was Manassas and it took place in virgina, its also very close to were the war ended at appomattox, virginia.

The actual battle begin in Carthage it was also called the Battle of Dry Fork it took place at the beginning of the Civil War on July 5,1861 in Jasper County Missouri. But I will look Manasas up on Wiki. The battle in Manasas took place on July 21 1861 16 days after the battle of Carthage.
